Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Do you think Carmella deserves another WWE run, or was the company right to move on?
I would love to see Carmella back in the WWE and wrestling regularly, but WWE was right to not renew the contract and move on. Carmella has been sitting at home for nearly three years and getting paid, taking a paycheck, yet contributing nothing to the company. The free ride had to end, and then Carmella made those comments about how WWE was unfair to her for being pregnant. That bridge was set on fire. Maybe, once she’s healthy and able to perform, they can work out something in the future, but for now, I think the relationship is over.
Do you think AEW should keep shifting AEW Collision to avoid WWE’s big shows, or stand their ground and compete?
If AEW had a strong and consistent product that the fans wanted to see, they could just stand their ground and compete. They don’t have that so they have to keep playing musical timeslots instead.
Do you think Christian Cage will ever be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?
Once his run with AEW ends, I’m sure that Christian will one day be a WWE Hall of Fame Inductee. His career with WWE and his place in WWE history is too large to ignore.
Where is Roxanne Perez and Nia Jax? They both seem to have disappeared from WWE television.
Perez has been MIA since the Elimination Chamber PLE. Nia had her run with Rhea and a brief war with Liv Morgan before vanishing. And where are they? I don’t know. I haven’t seen any injury notices or heard anything. I guess that they’re both just stepping back for a while as others get the spotlight and push as we build toward WrestleMania, waiting for Creative to give them something. I’m sure we’ll see them both back in action sooner rather than later.
Dusty Rhodes & Blackjack Mulligan versus Shawn Michaels & Diesel. Who wins?
HBK and Nash would be the more unified team, but Dusty and Rhodes are the real deal and would take the fight to them. I’m going with Dusty and Blackjack for the win.
Who would be on your Mt. Rushmore of father-son tag teams?
How many consistent father-son tag teams are there? Usually, if a parent teams with the son, it’s just a one-off spot. But it has happened a few times. And who would be the best in my opinion? Blackjack Mulligan Sr. and Junior, aka Barry Windham. Dusty & Dustin Rhodes. Bob and Brad Armstrong. And of course, Dominik Mysterio and his deadbeat dad, Rey Mysterio.
Is Seth Rollins better than the Undertaker? What’s your opinion?
Seth is better at the Undertaker in some ways, while The Undertaker is better than Seth in others. It’s like comparing pizza to fried chicken. Both are great meals but in totally different ways. Both are legends. ‘Nuff said!
What are your thoughts on The Russian Nightmare, Nikita Koloff?
An impressive physical monster for his time who, under the guidance of The Russian Bear, Ivan Koloff, went from a stiff monster to a wrestling legend. Nikita was never a great in-ring performer, but he had that aura about him, and with the right opponents, could be quite the spectacle. Far better as a heel than a babyface in my opinion, but he left his mark on the world of pro wrestling during his limited time in the ring.
If someone like Jade Cargill put on 100 pounds, would she still have a job?
If she still had that physique and could perform at a high standard, who knows? That body is what brought her to the dance and without it, what else does she have to offer? So, would they keep her if she lost the body? I doubt it.
What are your thoughts and memories of Adrian Adonis?
Adrian Adonis, when he was in the AWA, teamed with Jesse Ventura, and later in Texas, was a wrestling machine. He dressed in leather, played the very believable role of a tough guy, and was always impressive inside that ring. And then he gained weight, and Adorable Adrian was born and that was hard to watch. Adonis was still a great wrestler, but that character was an embarrassment. He pulled it off though and still had some memorable matches. A legitimate wrestling legend who deserves many kudos and much respect. Forget those last few years. The man was good. Damn good!
