Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Today marks 1 year since Omos’ last appearance on WWE TV. Thoughts?
And this is total insanity. Omos went to Japan and wrestled for Pro Wrestling NOAH for a few months and looked incredible. He was booked well and even held the tag team championship twice. But WWE called him home and he’s just sitting at home waiting for Creative to find something for him to do. WWE has a special attraction on its hands, but they’re dropping the ball with Omos big time. It’s a major shame.
Max Caster will have an open challenge at AEW Dynasty. Who do you think will answer it?
Given that Caster has lost every open challenge he’s issued thus far, he needs to quit doing these. Who should answer? How about Hornswoggle? Okay, maybe not, but that would be cool. I guess that Anthony Bowens will make a return. He’s been gone long enough and it’s time to put this rivalry between the former teammates to rest.
Would you like to see Chris Jericho return to WWE?
For an eventual Hall of Fame induction, then absolutely. But to wrestle or for anything more than that, I would say no.
What did you think of the unscripted showdown between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton on WWE SmackDown?
It was awkward and uncomfortable to watch. Charlotte looked extremely flustered out there as if she was reaching the entire time, while Tiffany seemed more scripted than ever. Is Vince McMahon back? And it was just a bad spot for both ladies. But strangely enough, I’m more intrigued now with this match than anytime prior. Crazy how that happens.
Bret Hart versus Kurt Angle. Who wins?
A wrestling clinic for sure. This would be a fantastic dream match. A tough call for sure, but I think Kurt would end up with the victory.
Otis versus Norman the Lunatic. Who wins?
Why does this sound like a Memphis wrestling main event at a B-Show? Does anyone today even remember who Norman the Lunatic was? It was an earlier incarnation of Bastion Booger. This could be a fun match to see. I think Otus would win.
Say you create a new wrestling company, who would you hire to be your head booker out of these people – Eric Bischoff, Jim Ross, or Jim Cornette?
Of the three names listed, Eric is a businessman and promoter. Jim Ross is a great announcer. Jim Cornette is the only one who was an actual booker. Cornette gets the pick.
If you started a podcast and had a choice between Conrad Thompson, James Romero, or Brian Last as your mentor and cohost, who would you choose?
Conrad gets on my nerves, while Brian has enough on his plate with Jim Cornette every week. James Romero, of WSI, plus the Dutch Mantell and Stevie Richards shows, would easily be my most likely choice.
Booker T recently commented that Steve Austin and Bret Hart shouldn’t get a HOF Ring for their classic match at WrestleMania 13 and that it deserves a plaque at best. Is Booker right? Thoughts?
I hate to agree with Booker, but he’s right. A plaque would be sufficient enough, but to give the men a ring for something as subjective as a match just doesn’t seem right to me either.
Is MLW the right place for Hammerstone to make his next move, or should he have jumped to a bigger stage like AEW or WWE?
Currently, in the WWE, Hammerstone would be lost in the shuffle. AEW would push him, forget about him, push him, forget about him, and he’d become the next Lance Archer or Wardlow, a big waste of time. For now, MLW is probably the best place to be.
