Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
What are your thoughts and opinions on Toni Storm?
A decent wrestler. A great character. And just as confusing as everything else that is currently AEW. The Timeless character is fun to watch on the promos, but the matches they’re “Eh!” at best. Against some strong opponents, she would be excellent. Given her current situation, she’s okay, but little more.
Jim Johnston recently noted that he reached out to AEW about potentially writing theme songs for the company, but there was no interest. Thoughts?
Tony Khan would rather spend millions of dollars to pay for the rights of songs from the ’80s than produce quality music in-house. Johnston has a proven track record and there should have at least been a conversation, if nothing else. But I’m not surprised. I wish I could say that I was, but I’m not.
What is the latest update on Steve “Mongo” McMichael?
I searched and since his being named into the Football Hall of Fame back in August 2024, news of Mongo has been scarce and hard to find. I know he spent some time in the hospital last year with a severe MRSA infection, but apart from that, I couldn’t find anything else. Mongo remains at home, under the care of his wife and family, bedridden with ALS. Continued prayers and best wishes to Mongo. No one deserves that.
Madusa versus Chyna. Who wins?
Chyna is the stronger of the two, but Madusa is the better wrestler. Madusa would win in a fair match anywhere, but the WWE.
Rich Swann has reportedly left TNA Wrestling. So, what’s next for Swann?
Swann has not been used since being sent home after some legal issues involving domestic violence, charges that were later dismissed. But TNA never brought him back, nor used him properly since. Leaving TNA is for the best if he wants to continue a career in professional wrestling. Since he was cleared of any wrongdoing, maybe AEW is an option. Swerve needs allies to fight by his side against Moxley and the Death Riders. Swann would be a great choice.
Rank Arn Anderson’s Championship tag team partners from the best to worst. Bobby Eaton, Tully Blanchard, Larry Zbyszko, Ole Anderson, Paul Roma, Jerry Stubbs, and Pat Rose.
The best would be Tully, followed by Ole, Eaton, Zbyszko, and then Roma. I never had the chance to see Arn teamed with Stubbs or Rose, so they would round out as the bottom two.
Kevin Nash recently stated that Iyo Sky is terrible and has no business being involved in the match with Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. Thoughts?
While it’s true that Iyo does seem like the odd person out in this match, she is a decent wrestler and is the current Women’s World Champion. It adds to the match and provides the X-factor to an otherwise predictable match. Bianca versus Rhea is a big match, but we’ll have plenty of opportunities to see that match happen again. Ripley belongs in this match at Mania. She’s earned that spot.
You’re starting a new wrestling company and can hire any three WWE stars to work as executives and bookers, but they can’t wrestle. Who would you recruit?
I’d want wrestlers or former wrestlers, as the case may be, who have proven to be creative, personable, and just as useful backstage as they are in the ring or on the mic. Thus, my three hires would be Mickie James, Konnan, and The Miz.
Col. DeBeers versus Swerve Strickland. Who wins?
Two men known for using race as part of their characters, this would be a great match. This would have been a really stiff, yet fun match. It’s a hard choice, but DeBeers is the better wrestler of the two. Of course, if DeBeers were to win, there would be a riot, national protests, and a boycott of wrestling forever. So, with that in mind, Swerve would win.
