Thoughts & Predictions

Coming up Sunday night, live from Las Vegas, it’s Night Two of the biggest wrestling event of the year, WrestleMania 41. And that means it’s prediction time. Let’s forget about the small talk and get to it. And away we go.

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena.

So, will The Rock show up and make an appearance? Truthfully, they don’t even need him for this match. I’d love to see Cody win and keep his title, but it seems that Cena has the momentum and could be considered the favorite. I hope that I’m wrong, but I expect to see Cena as the new WWE Champion.

Winner and NEW WWE Champion: John Cena.

WWE Women’s World Championship (triple-threat): Iyo Sky (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair.

Goodbye Iyo Sky. It’s been nice knowing you. So, who wins? Bianca or Mami? I think we’ll have a great night as Mami comes home.

Winner and NEW WWE Women’s World Champion: Rhea Ripley.

Women’s Tag Team Championship: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez (c) vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria.

I am enjoying Liv and Raquel as the tag team champions, and I don’t think it’s time to end the run just yet. Bayley and Valkyria are a good team and it will be a good match. That being said, the belts are staying where they belong, with Liv, Raquel, and Judgment Day.

Winners and STILL Women’s Tag Team Champions: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez.

Intercontinental Championship (fatal four-way): Bron Breakker (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. Penta vs. Finn Bálor.

Part of me would like to see either Finn or Dom win the title and bring that belt home to Judgment Day, but I don’t think that will be happening. Penta is worthy, but it’s not his time yet. I think we’ll see Breakker spear someone out of their boots and retain his championship.

Winner and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Bron Breakker.

Sin City Street Fight: Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre.

This will be an excellent fight. I’d like to see Drew win, but for Drew, it doesn’t matter if he wins or loses. He’s a made man in WWE these days. Priest is damn good, but since leaving Judgment Day, he seems to be losing steam and momentum. A big loss now could bury him for good. Drew doesn’t need the win. Priest does. Priest is getting the win here.

Winner: Damian Priest.

AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul.

AJ is the perfect person to wrestle Logan Paul and carry him to a great match. This should end up being a match for the ages. I expect we’ll see AJ dominate most of the match, but look for some shenanigans and maybe a few dirty tricks by Paul. And that extra motivation will make all the difference.

Winner: Logan Paul.

Randy Orton Open Challenge.

I still would have liked to see Randy face Nick Aldis in a match, but I guess that WWE is saving that for later. This does open the door for a ton of potential matches. I saw Matt Cardona in the audience at the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, so maybe The Death Match King of the Indies can show up and challenge Randy? Maybe Omos will return from catering and pick up the challenge. Maybe we’ll see a member of the Wyatt Sicks? All of those would be great, but I doubt it. I heard that Rusev and Lana have been spotted in Vegas. Rusev versus Randy? That would certainly be a WrestleMania level and event. Let’s go with that. Randy Orton versus Rusev w/ Lana. And the arena erupts. Of course, Randy gets the win, but so long as Rusev looks good in the match, it won’t matter.

Winner: Randy Orton.

And there you go with my predictions for Night Two of WrestleMania 41. It’s a solid and packed show, but does it feel like a WrestleMania to you? What are your thoughts and predictions? Let me know in the comments. And I guess that’s all for now. Thanks for reading. Stay well, and I’ll see you at the matches.
