Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

What does WWE buying AAA mean for their top champion Alberto El Patron, who has a history of domestic violence? What do you think?

I think Alberto Del Rio should be updating his resume and reaching out to AEW or CMLL about future employment. Given his history with WWE and his new bosses at AAA, his current employment status looks shaky at best,

According to Missy Hyatt, WCW thought about breaking up Rick & Scott Steiner in 1989, with Rick being managed by Robin Green (Woman), and Scott being managed by Missy. Would it have worked? Thoughts?

As Missy herself said in speaking of this, it would have been a total bomb. Robin Green had not yet transformed into the character of Woman as of yet, and Missy was Missy. Scott barely had an identity at the time, and Rick was just considered goofy. This kind of angle would have screwed up the careers of everyone involved. We’re lucky that it never happened.

Who would be on your Mt. Rushmore of wrestling valets?

Missy Hyatt, Woman, Miss Elizabeth, and Baby Doll.

So, Bayley is out of WrestleMania, and Lyra Valkyrie has to find a new partner to challenge Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Who do you think her choice will be?

This sucks for Bayley. She deserves better. As for who will replace Bayley, from all that I’ve read, the plan is for Becky Lynch to be brought in for a huge return and WrestleMania moment. I would rather have seen Lyra and Chelsea Green have an interaction, with Chelsea offering to be Lyra’s partner, but Lyra declining, thus planting the seeds for some future programs. Maybe that will happen. One can only hope. But the current plans, so far as I understand it, Becky Lynch will be the replacement.

Do you think WWE owning AAA will change the future of lucha libre?

There is no way that AAA and Lucha Libre will not have changes. Some changes will be minor, while others will shake the company to its very foundation. With Lucha Libre AAA under the WWE umbrella, the business will be changed forever, for better or for worse. We’ll just have to wait and see how it all turns out.

Is Trick Williams more over, less over, or the same compared to this time last year?

Trick is more over than he was a year ago, but he’s losing steam fast. New talents are overshadowing him as part of the NXT title scene, and he’s getting stale. He’s not ready to be sent to catering just yet, but he needs a good reboot or repackaging.

AJ Lee versus Tiffany Stratton. Who wins?

Tiffany Stratton is fresh off of a big victory over Charlotte last night at WrestleMania, but she’s not Mrs.The Best in the World. Tiffy Time is awesome, but this match would be AJ Lee’s big moment.

So given that WWE has purchased AAA, I assume NOAH has to be next. Could this therefore lead to AEW purchasing CMLL and New Japan and the wrestling war going officially global? Thoughts?

That’s a lot of wrestling companies spending money and things going crazy. It sounds kind of extreme. All of that would really shake up the world of pro wrestling. Can you imagine Tony running New Japan and CMLL, and running those companies with the same energy and proficiency that he gives ROH? It would be a disaster. WWE would give those companies the NXT treatment and AEW would destroy them. It would be a mess.

What is the first thought and memory that comes to mind when you hear the word, WrestleMania?

Hulk Hogan and Andre at WrestleMania 3 is the first image that pops into my head when I think of WrestleMania. That match was so iconic and that image is so strong, it forever lives in my mind.

Would you like to see Lexis King and Brock Anderson as a team in either WWE or NXT?

I would love to see Brock and King, who teamed together in AEW, reform their alliance. For two rookies, they were impressive, but now that they’ve gotten more experience, they could really make an impact and do something. I’d love to see these two men back together.
