Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

What did you think of Night 1 of WrestleMania 41?

It was a solid and steady show, but apart from the main event match with Punk, Roman, and Seth, it didn’t feel like WrestleMania. It wasn’t a bad show, and I enjoyed it, but something was missing. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 7 at best. For any other event, WWE did an excellent job and there are no complaints, but for WrestleMania, it just didn’t work for me.

Brodie Lee Jr. made his pro wrestling debut at GCW in Las Vegas, entering the ClusterFuck event, and eliminating Joey Janela & Megan Bayne. Thoughts?

Brodie Jr. is only 13 years old, but he worked a match for GCW. What the hell? I’m not surprised because Brodie, aka Negative One, has been training with people like Cody Rhodes, Big E., Natalya, and so many others since his father passed away, and I’m sure he’s more capable in the ring than 98%of most independent wrestlers. But still, WOW! I watched the video of the end of this match, and it was pretty impressive. How did Brodie get a license to wrestle? That is somewhat suspect, but it made for a great moment. If Brodie does pursue pro wrestling as a career once he becomes an adult, he’s off to a great start. If not, he’s got a great memory he’ll cherish forever.

Bugsy McGraw & Dutch Mantell versus Paul Jones & Baron Von Raschke. Who wins?

Bugsy and Dutch would be a fun team and entertaining, but Jones and Raschke were an established team who held the NWA World Tag Team Championship titles together twice. Jones and The Baron would win.

None of the wrestling websites, not Meltzer, not Keller, not Sapp, etc., had any idea of the WWE buying AAA until WWE announced it. Thoughts?

When WWE doesn’t want the news to leak out, it doesn’t. They didn’t want this story to break early, and it didn’t. It really is just that simple.

Why did Paul Heyman turn on CM Punk and Roman Reigns and ally himself with Seth Rollins?

Paul is the ultimate justified heel. Punk was his best friend, but used him to needle Roman. Roman was his Tribal Chief but didn’t defend him against Solo or the new Bloodline and ghosted him. So Paul felt disrespected by his two friends and did the only thing that he could do, and betray both of them first. Paul did what Paul had to do. It’s not his fault and he was totally justified in his actions. If you don’t agree or believe him, just ask him and he’ll tell you.

Favorite match of Night One of Mania? Worst match?

My favorite match of the night was the main event of Roman versus Seth versus Punk. And my least favorite match of the night was Naomi versus Jade. It wasn’t a bad match and far better than I expected, but it was just too long and dragged in parts.

What are your thoughts and memories of Iceman King Parsons?

The main thing I remember about Parson was his brief time in Crockett where he was a mid-card jobber, who had a personality, called everyone a “rooty-poo”, and stood out from the crowd, but was never pushed strongly. And then, in Texas, he was the Blackbird and teamed with Buddy Roberts in a feud against the Freebirds. He was a standout character who did well in World Class and the USWA and would be a huge star in today’s business. Think of an early version of Swerve Strickland, but more charismatic and a better worker.

El Grande Americano stole a win over Fenix and got physical with Hijo del Vikingo afterward. Does this mean Americano versus Vikingo is the main event of World’s Collide in June?

I can easily see El Grande Americano being sent to AAA and shaking things up for WWE. Having this match as the main event of World’s Collide makes sense. The seeds have already been planted. Make it happen, Triple H.

Jacob Fatu is the new United States Champion. Thoughts on the new champion, and who should his first feud as champion be against?

Once Jacob settles things with LA Knight, I think Braun Strowman will be the next major challenge. A few matches with Fatu against Bronson Reed, when he returns, would be awesome to see as well.

Which event was better on Saturday? NXT Stand & Deliver or Night One of WrestleMania?

Match for match, and based on the energy of the event, I think overall, NXT Stand & Deliver was the bigger and better event. Both shows were well done and solid, but Night One of Mania didn’t feel like a WrestleMania event. It was a good show, but something was missing. Stand & Deliver had that fire and feeling about it and felt special. No major complaints about either show. Both are proud moments for WWE, but Stand & Deliver was just the better show in my opinion.
