Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Konnan recently confirmed that he will be part of the WWE creative team in regards to Lucha Libre AAA. Thoughts?
That is good to hear since few people know the Lucha styles of wrestling and what AAA should represent better than Konnan. Plus, he has the name and credibility, plus a willingness to work with WWE to make the product better than ever, but still stay loyal to the AAA traditionalists. Keeping Konnan is the right move and it’ll be fun to how this new relationship develops.
What do you want to see Jeff Cobb’s role be in his WWE debut? A new Paul Heyman guy? A part of a new Jacob Fatu faction? Or something different?
I’m not a big fan of Cobb, but given his reputation and history, a partnership with Jacob Fatu could be an interesting way to go. Whatever role he’s given, I’m sure he’ll do well and be an effective monster for WWE.
Where the fuck is Jack Perry? I honestly think with the right wrestling education and booking bro can be a superstar in the WWE. I can’t be the only one who sees potential in this kid.
Currently, Perry is working with New Japan, but he hasn’t been on a show for a while. So far as WWE goes, Perry is damaged goods based on the whole “real glass” and backstage fight with CM Punk. So long as Punk is with the company, I can’t see WWE having any interest in the former Jungle Boy. He has plenty of potential, but bad decisions and bad bookings in AEW have majorly damaged his marketability and character.
Do you agree with Bully Ray that TheRock and WWE botched the WrestleMania 41 storytelling?
He’s making all sorts of excuses now, but The Rock should have been at WrestleMania and part of the story. It really is just that simple. He started the story and then bailed with no follow-up. The Rock dropped the ball big time, period!
Do you think Brodie Lee Jr is on the path to becoming a major star?
Brodie is 14 years old. I think we have a long way to go before worrying about whether he will be a major star or not. By the time he’s an adult, he may not even want to be in wrestling anymore. Let’s wait until he’s grown up before sticking labels on him and speculating about his wrestling career.
Should Bryan Danielson wrestle one more match, or is it the right time to say goodbye?
Danielson himself admits that his neck is totally wrecked and one botched move could result in paralysis or worse. Call it a day, Dragon. The in-ring career is over. Say goodbye.
Sherri Martel & Luna Vachon versus Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez. Who wins?
Sherri and Luna are better and more memorable characters, and true legends in every sense of the word, but Liv and Raquel are better wrestlers and a better team. Liv and Raquel would win.
What’s your take on Fraxiom’s WWE main roster call-up?
Fraxiom has dominated the tag team scene in NXT and done everything that they can do there, so it was time to move on and come to the main roster. Hopefully, they’ll do well and not get lost in the shuffle, as the main roster is loaded with great teams and crowded right now. At least their paychecks will increase if nothing else. I think they’ll do well.
What is your current honest opinion on Pat McAfee as a commentator?
I think Pat is fine as the color analyst for WWE. He gets a bit over-enthusiastic at times and can be annoying, but I like his energy. He reminds me of David Crockett back in the day. I wouldn’t mind seeing him tone it down a little bit and provide more insight at times, but overall, he adds more than he detracts and does a good job.
Former WWE star Brad Maddox has been announced as a guest at WrestleCade 2025 in November. Given his video history with Paige, what kind of reaction do you think the former Assistant GM will get?
Maddox finally made it out of that cave? I’m not sure how this will all play out. Maddox has been painted as the bad guy and villain with the whole Paige sex tape scandal, but Xavier Woods was also part of that and he’s as beloved as ever. Either Maddox will have a good day, meet plenty of fans, and sign plenty of autographs, or his table at this event will be a ghost town and he will be ignored by the fans attending WrestleCade. I hope it’s the first. Maddox did some stupid things, but he seems overall to be a nice guy and if this whole scandal with Paige hadn’t happened, would probably have had a good career.
