Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) versus John Studd & Ernie Ladd. Who wins?

Talk about a man-meat marathon, and this match would be it. Four big dudes, two of who are wrestling legends. The other two are the War Raiders. It’d be a solid match. I don’t see Ladd and Studd as much of a team as Erik and Ivar. I feel that would cost them in the end. The War Raiders win.

Who is the greatest heel of all time?

That is totally subjective and open to opinion. All-time covers a lot of territory. I’ll go with Ole Anderson for this one. A wrestling legend and wrestling’s best-known grumpy old man. Even his best friends say that he was an asshole, and I think he cherished that role.

Does Swede Hansen belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?

Hansen is a legend in the Mid-Atlantic region and an icon in every way that matters. If it was up to me, I’d say yes, but for the general fans, probably not, and in the big picture of pro wrestling, probably not. He’d make a great inductee for the Legacy Wing of the HOF though.

Do you miss Bryan Danielson on AEW TV?

I kind of do, but watching a person try and destroy themselves could be rough at times. AEW could use Danielson in an on-air authority role and that would be awesome. I don’t want to see him take bumps or try to wrestle again.

Adam Copeland says that when his current AEW contract expires in 2026, he plans to retire permanently. Thoughts?

And when that AEW deal expires, we’ll see Adam sign a WWE Legend’s Deal, make some appearances, and live the quiet, retired life that he probably should have embraced a few years ago. Adam’s body isn’t holding up well from what I can tell, and ending the in-ring stuff is probably the best decision that he can make at this point.

Are there too many WWE wrestlers using the spear as a finish?

Right now, Roman uses it. Bron Breakker uses it. Jey Uso uses it. And I’m sure that I’m missing a few people. A move like the spear as a finisher, should be protected and limited in its use. Roman has been doing it for so long, that it makes sense. And Breakker does it so well, it can be overlooked. But for everyone else, it should be avoided and they should find another move to use instead. Protect the move and the two men who deserve to use it.

Where does El Grande Americano rank amongst the greatest luchadors of all time?

Americano is in a league of his own, right up there with Dominik Mysterio and The Conquistadors. He’s such a legend, I can almost see him as a former Olympian. He’s certainly very good.

What are your memories and thoughts on Jillian Hall?

I liked Jilian as a character, although her in-ring talents often left much to be desired. That singing gimmick was wild, but in all fairness, it takes talent to purposely be that bad. Did you know that Jillian even made a CD of Christmas carols, in character? That was awesome. Jillian was underrated as a character and rarely failed to entertain.

According to a press release sent by AEW to selected press outlets, Tony Khan has officially banned Jim Cornette from all AEW events. Thoughts?

I can’t wait to hear Cornette’s reaction to this. According to Tony Khan, AEW has invited Cornette to AEW events 14 different times, but Corny always declines and then rags the AEW product on his podcast. I guess that Tony’s feelings have been hurt enough and now, he’s banning Cornette from doing something he doesn’t do, attend AEW events. All Khan did was give Jim something to talk about and free publicity. Corny’s reaction is going to be awesome.

Would you like to see Jim Cornette return to WWE for a 1-year deal to work with CM Punk, Roman Reigns, etc., and act as a counter to the Wise Man, Paul Heyman?

Jim Cornette in the WWE for one year? That would never work. His head would explode. But for a one-time deal, with maybe some videos from his home and a one-shot deal with Punk or Roman, if the offer was right, I could see Cornette doing that. He’d only have to actually appear live maybe twice at best, and it would blow the internet up. That would be great.
