Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Who is your biggest crush on the AEW Women’s roster?
I can honestly say that I don’t have a single crush on the AEW Women’s roster.
Define wrestling soulmates.
Two wrestlers that just have that perfect chemistry, be it as partners or foes, just work and gel so well together, it’s almost magic. Think Flair and Steamboat, Bret & HBK, Eaton & Lane, or Austin & Vince.
Should WWE start making movies again and reopen the WWE Studios branch of their company?
I don’t think that they need to open WWE Studios again, but maybe a limited partnership between TKO and some other movie companies where WWE stars can make movies, make some extra money, and build their knowledge and skills, wouldn’t be a bad idea. Given how many WWE talents either have already done or want to do television and movies, it’s a natural step for the company.
Dustin Rhodes recently said that he plans to end his career in AEW and that it’s the only place he’s ever felt respected. Thoughts?
And if the checks from Tony quit coming, would Dustin still say the same thing? I’m sure that he means every word right now, but if the situation changes, or if WWE offers enough money or a great opportunity, his opinion will most likely change.
Charlotte Flair recently spoke about wanting to change her character to be more like the real her. She said her current character isn’t relatable to the fans. Thoughts?
She’s right about her current wrestling persona. It is unlikeable and unrelatable. The best characters are when a wrestler is himself, but amps it up 150%. If Charlotte started adding more of her real self to the Charlotte character, I’m sure that it would help.
Do you think WWE will help AAA become a truly global force, or will the collaboration change what made AAA special?
The collaboration will change AAA. That’s inevitable. But I think AAA will still be true to itself in the ways that matter most. As for helping AAA expand and grow, the production values will be stronger, and the mainstream appeal will be larger. Adding WWE money to the product can only help and make it stronger.
What do you think about Thea Hail and Harlem Lewis going public with their relationship?
What about it? It’s their life, and if they want to be public about it, more power to them.
How do you feel about Chelsea Green taking a break after losing the Women’s United States Title?
I hate for Chelsea to be off television and away from WWE for any length of time, but a break is always nice. It’ll give Zelina Vega a chance to have her moment of glory, and then, when Chelsea does return, she’ll be fresh again and it will make more of an impact.
Who do you consider the five greatest tag teams NOT in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Demolition, The Midnight Express, Rick Steamboat & JayYoungblood, Ole & Gene Anderson, and Jesse Ventura & Adrian Adonis.
If Triple H were to step down as head of creative, what do you think of Roman, Heyman, and Punk as heading the process?
I would be fine with Heyman taking a role, but I think TKO and Tony Khan would probably reach out to Dwayne, plus form a committee of several bookers and writers rather than just pick one person as the head of Creative again.
