Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

If you could book a cross-promotional card between AEW and WWE, and every match is a champ vs champ match, what is the card?

Champion versus Champion so we’d have a main event of WWE Champion John Cena versus AEW Champion Jon Moxley. WWE World Champion Jey Uso versus ROH Champion Bandido. The WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton versus AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm and WWE Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky versus AEW TNT Champion Mercedes Mone. WWE World Tag Team Champions The New Day versus AEW Tag Team Champions The Hurt Syndicate. WWE Tag Team Champion The Street Profits versus ROH Tag Team Champions The Sons of Texas (Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. And by WWE standards, that’s a very long card. By AEW standards, it’s not long enough. But, by Dougie’s standards, it’s just right. So, there you go.

Dominik Mysterio says the reason Penta and Rey Fenix wear masks is because they are “ugly.” Thoughts?

And what else would you expect Dom to say? He’s a smart-ass and a heel. Plus, he’s an ex-con with a deadbeat Dad. He’s just expressing his opinion.

Oro Mensah has been released from his NXT contract, as has Dani Palmer. Thoughts?

I had to look up who both of these people were. Neither was featured regularly on NXT television. It sucks that they’ve lost their jobs, but if they get out there, bust their asses, and follow the Matt Cardona example, they will be okay.

Excessive blading and blood will not be allowed in TNA from now on. Thoughts?

It makes sense for the health of the wrestlers and the company to limit the blood factor. Too much blood turns off advertisers and looks bad to the average fan. Too much takes away the shock factor and kills the business. If it happens, it happens, but doing it purposely, just for the sake of bleeding, has never made sense. Good for TNA for stepping up and laying down the law.

Another NXT release with Javier Bernal. Thoughts?

Another talent that I had to look up to determine who he is. A talented guy, but his career in WWE was stalled. He wasn’t being used regularly and was never on television. Again, it sucks to see anyone lose his job, but follow the Cardona model and he’ll be okay. We’ll see this man again.

The latest list of releases WWE is doing makes no sense. They’re eliminating everyone who was a key part of the midcard and women’s tag division. And now the rosters are going to be bare-boned when they try to figure out future feuds/storylines. What are your thoughts on this?

The WWE rosters are so loaded and bloated, cuts needed to be made. People were sitting at home, not being used, and still collecting a paycheck. It sucks that people are losing their jobs, but they’ve gained experience, and some name recognition, and are in a better spot now than they were when they were first hired by WWE. They should be able to head out now, work the Indies, and learn, getting better and improving. Hopefully, they’ll be back in WWE at some point. But for now, the talent cuts were inevitable.

Jacob Fatu versus Wahoo McDaniel. Who wins?

Damn, this would be a brutal and stiff match. It would be awesome! It would be a tough choice between the two. Wahoo would probably take the victory, but both men would be a bloody mess at the end of the fight.

Shane Helms, aka The Hurricane, recently confirmed that due to spinal issues, he’s retired and won’t wrestle again. Thoughts?

It sucks that the WWE’s resident Super Hero won’t be vanquishing evil in the WWE anymore, but Shane has to do what’s best for himself. And he’s currently working as a WWE Producer so we’ll probably get cameos and the occasional appearance in a non-wrestling role from the Hurricane.

Push one, fire one, make a tag team with two, and one stays the same: Wade Barrett, Kurt Angle, Bobby Eaton, Mr. Wrestling II, and Xavier Woods.

My tag team would be Bobby Eaton & Xavier Woods. I’d fire Mr. Wrestling II. Wade Barrett would get the push, and Kurt Angle would stay the same.

Shayna Baszler versus Madusa. Who wins?

Madusa is legit tough and a wrestling legend, but Shayna’s background in MMA speaks for itself. This would be a fantastic match for something like Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, even now. I think Madusa would put up one helluva fight and take Shayna to the limit, but in the end, Shayna would make Madusa tap.
