Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Nick Wayne, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Hook versus Grayson Waller, Austin Theory, JD McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio. Who wins?
The WWE guys wrestle regularly and actually travel together off-camera, so there would be a unity and cohesive bond. The AEW guys only wrestle a few times a year, and have no common bond, on or off-screen. The WWE guys win.
Jim Cornette has claimed that Adam Copeland has damaged his reputation by coming to AEW. In Cornette’s view, Edge should have ended his career in WWE only. Thoughts?
What can I say? Cornette is 100% correct. His run in AEW has been embarrassing to put it lightly, and has done nothing to enhance his career or reputation. When the AEW contract expires, it’s best to try and forget it ever happened. Most fans feel the same way.
Cedric Alexander’s no-compete with the WWE is finally over. Should he go to AEW and join the Hurt Syndicate?
That would be the best option, career-wise, and would be a great move for both Cedric and AEW. I’m pretty sure that the plans are already in the works.
Will Ospreay praised CM Punk and Roman Reigns for their mic skills, but claims that WWE wrestlers can’t match the in-ring talent found in AEW. Is Ospreay right?
AEW wrestlers have the talent, but don’t know how to use it properly. Selling is non-existent, and in-ring psychology is but a fabled myth in AEW, spoken of, but only in terms of fantasy. At least in WWE, those skills are put to use. In AEW, not so much. And what’s the point in having talent if it’s not used properly?
If you had to face the Brothers of Destruction, who would you want your tag team partner to be?
The Undertaker and Kane versus me and my bro, the Infamous K-Mak. No, he’s not a wrestler, but I can think of few others that I’d rather share the experience of us getting our asses kicked with than my bro.
Was WWE right to let Dakota Kai go, or did they underestimate her potential?
Kai has tremendous potential to be sure, but it just hasn’t come through on television and connected with the majority of the WWE fans yet. She has spent more time injured than active over the past two years, and it was a business decision based as much on that as anything else. Kai would be a great one to pull the Cardona/McIntyre routine and rebuild her brand on the Indies. Make herself better and make WWE take notice again. I expect that within two years at the most, she’ll be back in WWE again.
Ricochet stole Zach Gowen’s prosthetic leg on AEW Collision. Thoughts?
It made for a unique and memorable moment and set up a match between Ricochet and Gowen, which is pretty cool. Who thought we’d be seeing Zach Gowen wrestling on television in 2025? This brief interaction, plus Ricochet’s heel move of stealing the leg, has gotten me interested in this match and Ricochet, something that I didn’t think was possible.
Do you think WWE is making a mistake by cutting several openly gay women, or is this just a coincidence driven by budget cuts and creative direction?
Every time a female is cut from the roster, the critics claim Triple H is sexist. Every time a person of color is cut, he’s racist. And now, two out of the twenty-five talents released this year happen to be gay, so Triple H must be homophobic. Bullshit! Nobody cares about who is or isn’t gay in WWE. What matters is what the wrestler brings to the table, how the fans react, and does the wrestler draw money and put butts in the seats. Anything else is speculation based on bullshit. Nothing more.
Christian Cage versus Nick Aldis. Who wins?
Aldis, in his prime wrestling days, was a pure beast in the ring and held that NWA World Championship for several years for a reason. A match between him and AEW’s resident father figure would be a classic battle for the ages, worthy of any PPV or PLE event. A loss wouldn’t hurt Christian in the slightest. Aldis hasn’t been on the big stage quite as often, so he’d need a win more. Aldis wins.
Saraya says she turned down a romance angle with Daddy Magic in AEW. Thoughts?
Based on Saraya’s very public dating history, it was probably a good idea to say no. The comparisons between the storyline dating of Daddy Magic and the realities of her history with Alberto Del Rio, Brad Maddox, Xavier Woods, etc., would all blur in the eyes of the fans rather quickly. And it wouldn’t have been a pretty sight.
Are you excited to see IYO SKY continue her rise to the top of WWE’s Women’s Division?
Iyo is a tremendous wrestler, and while not as exciting as a character as Bianca or Rhea, she’s doing an excellent job as the WWE Women’s World Champion. She’s grown on me, and I’m happy to see her doing so well and being so successful.
