Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Sabu has passed away. What are your thoughts and memories of Sabu?

I wasn’t a big fan of ECW, so my memories of Sabu are not as vivid as what others might recall. I remember Sabu showing up in WCW for a few weeks before vanishing again, and then I didn’t see him in action again until years later when WWE tried to recreate ECW. Unique, fearless, and amazing are the first words that come to mind. Sabu was his own man, an amazing character, and truly one of a kind. He will be missed.

Jeff Cobb debuted on WWE Backlash, and he’s with Solo Sikoa. Thoughts on Jeff Cobb?

I saw Cobb briefly on AEW about a year ago, and it was less than impressive. On Saturday, he looked like a dangerous monster of a man. Just those few minutes against LA Knight, and the face-off with Jacob Fatu, and I’m interested in the guy. If he and Fatu can get along, that will be one hell of a tag team. And if they end up fighting, one hell of a great brawl. When I first heard that Cobb was coming to WWE, I wasn’t excited and didn’t think much of it. I was wrong. This should be fun.

How would you rank WWE Backlash on a scale of 1-10?

The matches were all good. The show was well-paced and went by quickly. And though I didn’t like the ending of the Cena/Orton match, it makes sense in the context of the story and has set up many future events. WWE did a great job with Backlash. I’d give it a solid 8.

John Cena put R-Truth through the table during the post-show Backlash press conference. So, does that mean Cena versus Truth in a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event? Thoughts?

I’m not sure if that’s the plan for now, but I surely hope so. I’ve been saying for a while that we need to see Truth and Cena have some interaction, and WWE has delivered in full. Main eventing SNME sounds good to me.

Randy Orton gave Nick Aldis his third RKO. So, Randy versus Nick at SNME? Yes or no?

I hope so. Nick said he’d be interested in returning to the ring if there was a good story and reason. Well, now he’s got it. Aldis versus Orton would make for a fantastic match, and SNME would be the perfect place to hold this match. I hope that’s the plan.

Do you think the 300th episode of AEW Dynamite will do over a million viewers on cable?

AEW Dynamite hasn’t broken a million viewers in a couple of years. I don’t think they’ll do it with this show either.

Book next season’s Dark Side of the Ring, with eight topics, if you can.

Eight topics? How about The Velveteen Dream, Gino Hernandez, the murder of Dino Bravo, Ann Casey, Bulldog Bob Brown, Rock & Roll Buck Zumhofe, Hannibal, the Blood Hunter, and Abdullah the Butcher.

Do you think the John Cena character is having doubts about his heel turn? Will Cena be a babyface at the end of his run in December?

I don’t know if Cena is having doubts or not, but before the end of the year and the last match, he’ll be a face and go out with the fans’ love, support, and cheers. Of that, I have no doubt.

What could WWE’s plan be in Mexico? And do you think they’ll go after CMLL talent?

The plan is simple. Expand the WWE brand, gain more of the Latino and Mexican audience, and make money. As for talent at CMLL, if they become available and WWE has an interest in them, they’ll make an offer. It’s what a successful business does.

What do you think about WWE restricting talents from altering their look?

It’s the same as any actor in a television show has to endure. Their look is part of their character and what the WWE sells. If they change their look or appearance, it affects the stories and characters. It’s common sense, and I don’t blame WWE for wanting to keep control of things. It’s smart business.
