Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

The Miz has been announced as the new host for American Gladiators on Amazon Prime. Thoughts?

It’s a great choice and a good career move for the Miz. After twenty years as WWE’s go-to representative on television shows and appearances, The Miz is an old pro at speaking on camera and selling a product. He’s a great choice, and I may actually try to tune in and watch some of the shows now. It’s a natural progression, and if he chooses, this would make for a great career path, post-WWE.

Which current WWE Champion is your favorite?

Of the current titleholders in WWE, my personal favorite would be Dirty Dominik Mysterio, aka The WWE Intercontinental Champion.

Paul Jones & Mr. Fuji versus LA Knight & Shinsuke Nakamura. Who wins?

An interesting clash of styles. Jones and Fuji are best remembered now as managers, but in their day, they could work with the best of them in the ring, especially Paul Jones. His multiple reigns as the NWA United States Champion speak for themselves. But in terms of conditioning, in-ring moves, and overall presentation, I think the new kids, Shinsuke and Knight, have a strong advantage. Knight and Shinsuke would win after a classic fight and a great match.

Did you ever try wrestling moves on siblings or friends? What were your go-to favorite moves?

As every other kid in America did as a teenager, my friends and I would regularly beat each other up and wrestle. My favorite moves, which always seemed to work, were the DDT and the cobra clutch.

You have to form a team to fight Jeff Cobb, Jacob Fatu, and Bronson Reed, managed by Solo Sikoa, in a shoot-style fight/brawl. Who would be on your team?

Are we talking modern-day WWE or using wrestlers from any time or era? Hell, I’ll do both. For modern-day WWE, I’d have Omos, Oba Femi, and Brock Lesnar. As for all-time, I’d go with Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, and Terry Gordy.

Allegedly, Sabu was unable to wrestle at his last match, and Joey Janella and GCW loaded him up with a drug called Kratom. After that, Sabu was able to wrestle that final match. Thoughts?

Sabu was a grown man and an adult, and no one forced him to take the drug. Kratom is legal as a painkiller supplement, and I honestly doubt this was his first time using the product. I question Sabu being allowed to even wrestle if he was as bad off as people are now saying, but Sabu made the choice, took the match, and worked. If this contributed in any way towards his death, we’ll have to wait for the autopsy reports to know, but the bottom line, at least based on what we know now, is that what an adult puts into his body, regardless of the reason, is his choice and decision. And the consequences, they’re on him as well.

Barry Windham versus Rick Martel. Who wins?

I’m so surprised this match never happened, but Windham and Martel were never, as far as I can find, in the same territory at the same time, and never worked against each other. It would fall under the title of dream matches and would have been an epic encounter. It’s a tough call, but I think Martel would probably end up with the win.

Is Mariah May on the way to the WWE?

If her time in AEW is truly over, then WWE seems like the next logical stop in her wrestling career and journey. I can easily see WWE giving her a look and May spending some time in NXT, based on her name alone. I would say, Yes!

Barfight! You’re outnumbered 5-1. Who are the four wrestling superstars you’d want to have your back?

Easy answer here. I’d go with Haku, The Barbarian, Harley Race, and Ken Shamrock. Haku, Barbarian, and Shamrock would beat everyone up, and Harley would just growl at them, and then shoot them.

Build your dream MITB Ladder Match with six wrestlers from any era in their prime. Who would you choose?

Six legendary wrestlers who either excel in the art of ladder matches, or I’d just like to see in the match. I’d say Matt Hardy, Sabu, Sean O’Haire, Masked Superstar, Bobby Eaton, and Juventud Guerrera.

Ric Flair is in Chicago for the AEW Collision taping honoring Steve “Mongo” McMichael. Do you think Flair will pay respectable tribute to his friend and fellow Horseman, or will Flair make the spot all about Ric Flair?

I hope that Flair sticks to the script, talks about Mongo and their relationship, and pays proper homage to the man without going overboard. I fear that Flair, given a live mic on television, will turn it into a promo about Ric Flair, do the whole crocodile-tears routine he’s so infamous for, and end up embarrassing himself and Mongo’s memory. I just hope that they keep Ric away from the bottle until after the show is finished. This will either be really good or really bad. I’m hoping for the best, but expect the worst. And when Flair’s involved, how can I do anything else?

And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Reach me by e-mail at Doug28352@yahoo.com or on X at @Doug28352.
