Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

On a personal note, this is my 4,500th post for this site since I started it in 2013. Not too shabby, right? Let’s do this.

All five wrestlers want to work for your promotion, but you can only choose three. Who are you picking? Rick Rude, Ole Anderson, Lex Luger, Rick Steamboat, or Eddie Gilbert.

This would be a rough choice because all of these men were top guys and brought quite a bit to any promotion they were a part of. I probably wouldn’t hire Eddie Gilbert because, as talented as he was, he had a reputation for leaving companies without giving notice, a big no-no. As much of a fan as I am of Ole Anderson, I probably wouldn’t hire him either because he’s too used to being the boss, and I’m sure we’d butt heads. So, my choices would be Rick Rude, Lex Luger, and Rick Steamboat.

Braun Strowman versus Bruiser Brody. Who wins?

Braun is an impressive wrestler and a big dude, but he’s not Bruiser Brody. Brody would win.

Would you vote for John Cena if he ran for President of the United States?

I don’t know what his values or opinions are, so I can’t say for sure one way or the other. Also, who is the opponent, plus what party would Cena be representing? There are too many unknowns to answer either yes or no to this question.

Do you think Vince McMahon will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame once the dust settles?

Not during his lifetime, no. Vince may go in at some point as a Legacy inductee, but he has too much baggage for WWE to induct him while he’s still alive.

Who is someone you want to see have an AEW Title Reign?

Sammy Guevara. He’s been with the company since Day One, and although his star has fallen since those early days, I’d like to see Sammy have a run with the title, even if it’s just a short one. Also, Dustin Rhodes comes to mind. It would be cool to see Dustin add World Champion to his list of credentials before he retires.

Will Ospreay on AEW vs. WWE: ‘We smoke them in every field of wrestling’. Yes, he said it. Thoughts?

It sounds like Ospreay got into Tony’s stash and is under the influence of something. AEW has some talented wrestlers as part of their roster, but when it comes to storytelling, production values, attendance, ratings, putting together a match, etc., WWE is the superior brand.

Instead of the usual 10-count, should WWE and AEW start using a 20-count when the wrestlers are on the floor and outside of the ring?

WWE is fine with the 10-count as the talent in WWE knows how to work that count, use it as part of the match, etc. In AEW, a 20-count would probably work better since the referees rarely even pretend to enforce the count-out rule and tend to ignore whatever happens on the arena floor. Maybe with a 20-count, it wouldn’t be quite so obvious how bad the AEW referees truly are.

Do you think WWE is being overexposed, or is the amount of WWE wrestling on TV just right?

WWE has RAW, SmackDown, NXT, WWE Evolve, WWE Speed, andthe LFG show, plus PLEs and Saturday Night’s Main Event. WWE stars also regularly show up at TNA, plus they’ve just added Lucha Libre AAA to their list of properties. Yeah, overexposure is a strong possibility.

Jazz is currently guest-coaching this week down at the WWE Performance Center. Would you like to see Jazz make an in-ring return in WWE?

Jazz is 52 years old, so I don’t see much chance of her returning to the ring on a full-time basis. Maybe a cameo at WWE Evolution would be nice, but most likely, any contributions that Jazz has left to offer to WWE would be as a trainer or behind the scenes.

Would you like to see Zelina Vega defend her title in AAA, NXT, TNA, or Stardom?

It would add credibility to her title and credibility as a champion to her name, so yes, if Zelina is up for it and WWE agrees, let her be a traveling, fighting champion. It would be great PR for the company and Vega.

Do you think AJ Lee’s return could generate the same level of excitement as CM Punk’s?

Nope. AJ would get a great reception and pop during her initial return, but it would taper off rather quickly afterward. AJ may be married to CM Punk, but in terms of wrestling, while she was popular, she’s not even close to her hubby in terms of star power or recognition.
