Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Who would you choose for the first-ever class of the AEW Hall of Fame?
I’d go with Sting, Bryan Danielson, Owen Hart, Ric Flair, Jim Ross, and Taz.
WWE trademarked JC Mateo, and that will be the wrestling name for Jeff Cobb from now on. Thoughts?
I’d love to know where the name Mateo came from, but I get it with the new name. Cobb is a well-respected name in pro wrestling and overseas, but he’s not a big name in the United States. WWE wants to own the rights to whatever name he uses. And the new name, it’s a good compromise.
Dominik Mysterio says that today’s era of WWE is better than the Attitude Era was. Is Dirty Dom right? Thoughts?
I don’t necessarily agree, but if that’s what Dom believes and thinks, so be it. He’s the one working there and knows WWE wrestling better than I do.
Jim Ross has been diagnosed with colon cancer and will soon be undergoing surgery and treatment. Is it time for Ross to retire from announcing and professional wrestling?
At this point, Ross most likely will end up having to retire. And to be honest, it’s time. AEW can still cut Ross a check and keep him on a retainer, bringing him back once or twice a year to call a match, but so far as being a full-time commentator goes, Ross’s best days are over, and it’s time to call it a day.
Liv Morgan has finished her movie scenes and will be back in WWE soon. Have you missed Liv as part of RAW & Judgment Day? Will you be happy to see her back?
She was only gone for less than a month, so there really wasn’t time to miss her. I will be glad to see her back. I think she adds to the show and Judgment Day. Things are more interesting when Liv is around.
Do you think WWE is making the right move by phasing out live events?
Most weeks, WWE has three live events with RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. Then, when the PLE shows and Saturday Night’s Main Event are figured in, that’s either four or sometimes five live events a week. And then, add in TNA shows, plus the new addition of AAA to the schedule. WWE isn’t phasing out house shows because they want to. They’re phasing them out because who has the damn time?
Danhausen versus Simon Miller. Who wins?
I think I’ve maybe seen Danhausen wrestle twice, if that many times. Simon Miller may best be known for his videos for WhatCulture.com, but he’s a successful wrestler as well, and has had some good matches. This match would be insane comedy and make Jim Cornette’s head explode, but it would be a good match. And I’d give it a thumbs up because Simon would get the win.
Nikki Bella will be paying her ex-husband, Artem, $3,500 per month in child support for their son, Matteo, as part of their finalized divorce settlement. But that’s not all – she’s also on the hook for a whopping $200,000 lump sum payment, with half due immediately and the remainder before year’s end. Thoughts?
Nikki’s ex-husband, who worked as a dancer on Dancing with the Stars, took Nikki to the cleaners. Who the hell was her lawyer? I don’t get this settlement at all. Does he get the kid? My thoughts? Artem went to the Kevin Federline School for Baby Daddies. The times, they are a-changing.
Ricochet says that he hopes that he never returns to WWE. Thoughts?
I’m sure that most of the people in WWE and the majority of WWE fans agree with that sentiment. For Ricochet to return to WWE, they’d have to want him, and he’d have to say yes. If Ric doesn’t want to return, just say no if they ever do give him a call. It really is that easy.
Dominik Mysterio says he would love to go to AAA to “sh-t” on Rey Mysterio’s legacy and make sure he’s the only one you think of when you hear ‘Mysterio’. Thoughts?
It’s great to have goals, and this sounds like a great one for Dirty Dom. He’s from a family with a deep legacy in Lucha Libre, and if WWE wants to make money with AAA, it will become a regular place for Dom to visit. And when he’s through, the fans will only be thinking of him, and not his deadbeat dad, as it should be.
Who do you think is the biggest Nepo baby in WWE, and why is it Ava?
While there was a time when Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase Jr., Harry Smith, and even Dominik Mysterio could have been given that title, those days are over. And now, Ava Raine is the reigning Nepo Champion. Nobody else on the roster even comes close. Tamina still has a job, but she did put in her time and isn’t featured regularly on TV in an authority role. Ava couldn’t cut it as a wrestler, so she’s the GM instead. Her daddy must be so proud if you smell what I’m cooking.
