Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Who are we more likely to see at Double or Nothing? Mariah May or Dr. Britt Baker?
It’s a tough call because I honestly don’t think we’ll ever see either woman as part of the active AEW roster again. But if we’re getting one or the other, at least Mariah May didn’t just end a relationship with one of the top AEW stars. Britt Baker broke up with Adam Cole and since Cole is one of Tony’s buddies, she’s not coming back. We probably won’t see either, but we’ll see Mariah before Britt ever returns.
Mickie James versus Michelle McCool. Who wins?
Unless the Undertaker gets involved and uses his influence to change things to make McCool look better, which he has been known to do, this one is Mickie James all the way. Unlike McCool, Mickie earned her place on top and did it through hard work and talent. Mickie wins.
So, it looks like Rusev’s first major feud will be with Sheamus. Good start or not?
The matches will be solid and exciting, bangers if you will. This is a good way to keep Rusev busy and to reestablish himself with the WWE fans. I like this potential feud.
Bully Ray believes AEW should get a mainstream celebrity involved at one of its upcoming events to draw attention from people who aren’t already fans. Is Bubba right?
AEW has had Shaq, Rick Ross, Mike Tyson, Big Boom AJ, Action Bronson, Paul Walter Hauser, Dennis Rodman, and Master P all appear at various points. They’ve tried to tap into the mainstream audience, but it just hasn’t worked. Until they make their actual product more appealing to the average fans, all the celebrities in the world won’t help. Bubba is right to a degree, but at this point, it would just be like putting an ace bandage around a broken neck. It wouldn’t do a damn bit of good.
Does AEW need a developmental territory, as WWE has with NXT?
A promotion that teaches the AEW talent how to actually wrestle safely, improve their in-ring and mic skills, and improve their characters? Nah! Why would AEW want something like that?
Do you think Cena/Truth will get the Lesnar/Kofi treatment?
I think we’ll have a fun and competitive match, and maybe even get a surprise. At least, that’s what I will be predicting when I make my SNME predictions.
Would you like to see Mr. Kennedy return to WWE after 16 years?
Kennedy, aka Ken Anderson, is 49 years old, and I doubt that he would have much to offer WWE at this point in his career. Anderson. Anderson runs a wrestling school, so coming to WWE to work as a trainer or an agent may be an option, but so far as an in-ring return, I can’t see it happening. A one-shot at the Royal Rumble perhaps, but nothing else.
Would you like to see AEW Dark return somewhere down the line?
AEW can’t even make the shows that they currently have watchable. They don’t need to add another one to the schedule.
If you could form a nWo-like faction of free agents to “invade” AEW, with five wrestlers and a manager, who would be in your group?
This is strictly fantasy booking, but how about Shane McMahon leading a group consisting of Baron Corbin, Heath Slater, Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, and Jinder Mahal? That would be fun to see.
What did you think of Will Ospreay doing Triple H’s signature spit during AEW Dynamite?
Ospreay looked like an idiot. So much for his claim that AEW does everything better than WWE. Ospreay can’t even spit water right. Clown!
