Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
In a recent interview, John Cena spoke about how he’d like to appear in a horror film. Thoughts?
Cena was already in Barbie. Mission accomplished!
Kairi Sane. Thoughts on her return thus far. How is she doing?
Sane has only had two matches thus far, so it’s really too early to make a determination as to how she’s doing so far. The first match was changed mid-match because of the injury to Zoey Stark, while the second was marred by ring rust from both Sane and Liv Morgan, who was returning from a month away. Sane is a good wrestler, but it’s too early to make any judgment on her current run.
Are you planning to check out Cody Rhodes’ new podcast? Who would you want to see as his guests?
I enjoyed his previous run with the podcasting/interviewing from last year, and I’m sure this one will be good too. Too much promotion of Wheatley’s Vodka was annoying, but aside from that, it’s worth checking out, and I will. As for future guests, how about Charlotte Flair, Corey Graves, Bron Breakker, or Austin Theory?
The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Kendall Windham, Bobby Duncum Jr.) versus The Social Outcasts (Heath Slater, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Adam Rose). Who wins?
As much of a fan as I was for Bo, Axel, and Heath, this one isn’t even close. Axel’s daddy and Bo’s two uncles would take the younger generation of wrestlers to school and give them a teaching lesson. The West Texas Rednecks would win.
La Parka & Silver King versus Finn Balor & JD McDonagh. Who wins?
La Parka and Silver King were one of my favorite regular teams in WCW, and they were, in my opinion, very underrated. This would be an epic match and so much fun to watch. The winners? I have to say Balor and JD, aka Judgment Day.
Do you think WWE should wait until Asuka is 100% to bring her back, or would you want to see her return to a non-wrestling role while she recovers?
What would Asuka do if they brought her back? Work as a color commentator on RAW? She’d probably be better than McAfee, but still. Don’t bring Asuka back until she’s fully healed and ready to go. And push her to the moon.
WWE just spoiled that El Hijo Del Vikingo is winning the AAA Mega Championship from Del Rio. Thoughts?
I’m not sure if this was intentional or just a major blunder, but regardless, it doesn’t bode well for Del Rio. It’s hard to believe that WWE screwed this up so blatantly, but I’m sure that someone got in trouble as a result.
The triple-threat on RAW was easily Dragon Lee’s best match in a while. Now, I want to see a feud between Dragon Lee and Penta. Thoughts?
Dragon Lee versus Penta? That sounds good to me.
Which tag team was better? Pat Patterson & Ray Stevens or Ole & Gene Anderson?
Unfortunately, I’ve only seen Patterson and Stevens as a team on an old video a couple of times, so I can’t make a true judgment. I do know that they dominated the San Francisco territory for many years and people still speak highly of their time together. Ole and Gene, I’ve seen many times, as their peak years in Crockett were at the same time that I was just really becoming a diehard fan. In my opinion, The Anderson Brothers wrote the book on tag team wrestling and were the very best. Ironically, Ole and Ray Stevens were a team briefly after injuries forced Gene to retire and made an excellent team.
Is WWE being overexposed?
RAW, SmackDown, PLEs, NXT, EVOLVE, AAA, WWE LFG, and being heavily featured on USA Network, Peacock, Netflix, NBC, Tubi, YouTube, ESPN, and every wrestling podcast in existence. I would say, yes.
After Joe Hendry lost his Title to Trick Williams, will TNA ever get a big win over an NXT talent?
I hope so. NXT dominance is getting pretty old.
