Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Mariah May has been removed from the AEW website and is no longer with the company. Thoughts?
All of the latest gossip I’m seeing is that she’ll be showing up in WWE soon. I don’t really see her as fitting in with the ladies of WWE and NXT, but maybe she’ll prove me wrong.
The Wyatt Sicks just popped up and took out four teams on Smackdown. Thoughts?
It was a quick segment, but it still gave me the goosebumps. Well done by WWE in their efforts to make this project work and establish The Wyatt group as a force to be reckoned with. My guess is we’ll see them going after the Street Profits and the tag team titles sooner rather than later. It’s going to be interesting to see how this all develops and plays out.
Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifier: Andrade defeated Jacob Fatu and Carmelo Hayes! Did you see that one coming? Do you think Andrade has a chance?
It’s a surprise to be sure, but Andrade is certainly a capable enough wrestler. Fatu doesn’t need the win since he’s got the U.S. title and a story with Solo developing. And Carmelo? He’s got the Miz to play with, so that leaves Andrade as the logical choice. Good for him. Now, let’s see where this goes.
MVP recently said that he feels Hulk Hogan is disqualified from being on pro wrestling’s Mt. Rushmore. Agree or disagree?
I disagree. Hogan might be many bad things, but no one can take away or deny his contributions to professional wrestling and helping to bring it into the mainstream. Hulkamania lives forever, brother, and even though the real-life Terry Bollea is a liar, a racist, a sleaze who sleeps with his best friend’s wife, and so many other things, he’s also a wrestling icon and legend. That spot on the Mt.Rushmore of Pro Wrestling belongs to Hulk Hogan and he’s earned it.
Do you think AEW should be more focused on TNA as a competition instead of WWE?
One would think that TNA is on their radar, but with Tony Khan, who knows? TNA is improving all the time, and all they’re lacking is a proper TV home to be the #2 promotion in the United States. Tony is so fixated on WWE that he’s not seeing TNA circling his boat. And if that doesn’t change, he’ll end up paying for it.
Imagine that instead of Bronson Reed, Heyman had Omos. Thoughts?
Why is no one using Omos in WWE right now? I like the affiliation of Bronson Reed to Heyman, Seth, and Breakker, but Omos would fit right in that spot just as well. Who says that the faction can’t add one more name to the group? Can you imagine looking across the ring at Seth, Breakker, Reed, and Omos as a collective unit? That would be revolutionary. And add Becky Lynch too. The group needs a woman’s touch and it truly would be a Dangerous Alliance.
After losing a qualifying match on RAW, Chad Gable is getting a second chance at “WWE Money in the Bank” as El Grande Americano. Is this fair? Thoughts?
Of course, it’s fair. Chad Gable and El Grande Americano are NOT the same person. Just ask either of them, and they’ll tell you. Seriously, after being dropped on his head by Penta on RAW this past week, Gable, I mean El Grande Americano, deserves the opportunity.
Bear Bronson has left AEW and is now a free agent. Thoughts?
His tag team partner, Boulder, was released a few months ago due to a domestic violence incident, and without his Iron Savages partner, what was there for Bronson to do in AEW/ROH? He doesn’t really stand out as a singles wrestler, and honestly, was just another guy taking up space in the locker room. Hopefully, he’ll be able to reinvent himself and move on to a successful career elsewhere. But honestly, this isn’t really any major news.
Do you think WWE would sign Zilla Fatu?
I’m sure he’s on their radar and given his family connections, it’s just a matter of time.
Whatever happened to Tay Conti?
Tay married Sammy Guevera, got pregnant, and had a beautiful baby girl named Luna. She returned to the ring a few months ago with a match in Japan and is rumored to be returning to the AEW ring soon. She’s just waiting on the word from AEW.
