Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

What are your thoughts on Mariah May officially starting in NXT?

I’m not a big fan of May and don’t see the appeal, but I didn’t realize that she’s only 26 years old. To do what she’s done in such a short amount of time, it’s surprising. Maybe there is more here than I was seeing. It’ll be interesting to see how this works out for May and WWE. Congratulations to Mariah and here’s to a long and fruitful career in WWE.

Who do you think might leave WWE next if the company decides to let go of more talent?

I think Apollo Crews, Tozawa, Otis, Omos, Karrion Kross, Scarlett, and Byron Saxton should all be making sure that their resumes are updated.

Is the evil foreigner gimmick overdone?

Back in the day, it used to be. But when done correctly, it worked. Ivan Koloff, The Iron Sheik, Baron Von Raschke, and so many others are all proof of that. It’s not used quite as much anymore, but still, I think it could still work and be a success. It just has to be the right time, right person, type of deal.

Would you be down to see Logan Paul take on Bad Bunny in a WWE match?

Not especially. I’d rather see full-time wrestlers get the big matches at the big events. But, to be honest, if it happened, I’d watch. I’m not a fan of non-wrestlers wresting, but the novelty would make it something I needed to see.

If someone were to write your life story, would you be a babyface or a heel?

I’d be a babyface for sure. There are some heel tendencies and mannerisms, but to know me is to love me. A tweener, but a babyface all the way.

Would a studio show work in today’s wrestling market?

If done properly with good production values and the right talent, it could work. The fans are so used to sold-out arenas, large crowds, and major presentations, but nothing is impossible. It wouldn’t be easy, but it’s not totally impossible either.

The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) versus Jimmy & Jey, the Usos. Who wins?

The Usos and it’s not even close. No disrespect to The Fantastics. They were a great tag team in their era, but I think the twin magic would be too much for them. Jimmy & Jey win. YEET!

Ricky Morton announced that he’s closing his wrestling school in Newport, TN after 11 years. No reasons were given. Thoughts?

Ricky Morton doesn’t need a reason to do anything. While it’s a shame that students won’t have the opportunity to learn from Ricky anymore, there are other schools out there. Ricky has had a fantastic career and maybe he just wants to relax for a while. Whatever the reason, it’s his call, as it should be, and we should respect that.

Dutch Mantell versus Junkyard Dog. Who wins?

Are we talking about the superstar JYD from Mid-South, or the fat & lazy JYD that he became in later years? It doesn’t matter, I guess. The promoters would insist that JYD goes over. And Dutch would gladly take the L. JYD wins.

Would you like to see Alberto Del Rio return to WWE?

Nope. Not interested.
