Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
There is a lot of speculation that Ronda Rousey may be returning to WWE, possibly as soon as WWE Evolution in July. Thoughts?
I like Rousey, although it seemed WWE didn’t know what to do with her towards the end of her run and just threw her out there will little protection. Used properly, as a special attraction like Logan Paul, she could still be a major asset to WWE. I hope she does return.
Roddy Piper & Kerry Von Erich versus Sting & Harley Race. Who wins?
I can’t see either of these teams working well together for any length of time. It’d be an interesting match, and I expect Sting and Von Erich would mainly stand in their corners while Piper and Race put on a wrestling clinic in the ring. Tough call, but I’ll go with Race and Sting for the win.
According to Sean Ross Sapp, AEW offered Mariah May over a million dollars a year, while WWE offered a downside of $225,000, and May took the WWE offer. Thoughts?
I doubt the numbers, given the source, but May choosing to bet on herself and work towards a career as a wrestler, with a professional company rather than just being a highly paid prop makes sense. I doubt the pay discrepancy is that large though.
What was the most exciting wrestling feud that you’ve ever followed?
The Ric Flair/Harley Race feud, building to Starcade 83, was damn good. The Arn Anderson/Bobby Eaton feud was spread across three promotions, WCW, ECW, and Smokey Mountain, so that was wild for the time frame. And CM Punk versus Drew McIntyre. It was great from start to finish.
Wendi Richter versus Liv Morgan. Who wins?
Girls just wanna have fun, but just because they hang out with Cyndi Lauper doesn’t make them great in-ring wrestlers. Liv has Judgment Day at her side. Liv wins.
Ric Flair versus Dutch Mantell with Jim Ross as the special guest referee. Who wins?
Given who they are, Ric would win the match. But Dutch would catch him after the match and give him a nice introduction to Shoe-Baby. Flair wins the match. Dutch wins the war.
TKO is allegedly looking at the deal with Roman Reigns, allegedly worth 15 million dollars, and wants to renegotiate the deal. Thoughts?
WWE made the deal with Roman. They must have thought he was worth it when they signed the ink to the paper. Honor it.
Seth Rollins recently named his “Nightmare Team”, the Mt. Rushmore of wrestlers he’d love to see destroyed in the ring. He picked CM Punk, Rick Martel, and Hulk Hogan. Who would be on your Nightmare Team and why?
Three people I’d love to see get destroyed in the ring. How about Ryback, Hannibal (Devon Nicholson), and Ric Flair? Reasons? Ric for his behavior, Ryback for being a jerk, and Hannibal for what he did to that referee a couple of years ago.
You’re taking a cross-country road trip. You can pick any three current wrestlers for your driving companions. Who’s riding with you?
Do they have to be current? Well, damn. I’ll go with Dominik Mysterio, Rhea Ripley, and R-Truth.
Marko Stunt & James Ellsworth versus Hornswoggle & Shark Boy. Who wins?
All four men are more comedy than anything else, but this would be a fun match. And the winners? A boy-like man and his fish. Shark Boy and Hornswoggle win.
