Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

In a recent podcast, Paul Roma issued a challenge to Hulk Hogan for a shoot-fight in the cage. Thoughts?

Roma has a background in boxing and kickboxing. He’s 62 years old but in relatively good health. Hogan is 71 years old and has had multiple back surgeries. What a competitive fight that would be, not. It sounds like Roma is just fishing for attention and an easy pop, as Hogan is probably the only person in pro wrestling less liked than he (Roma) is. In the words of legendary shoot-fighter and carrot lover, Bugs Bunny, ‘What a maroon!’.

Jake Something is back with TNA. Thoughts?

Something is a good worker and was a long-time part of the TNA family before taking a break and working a few matches for AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling, making three appearances for each company. I can’t remember why he originally left TNA, but it’s good to see him back. Welcome home, Jake. Now, change that damn name. Jake Something? Really? Oy vey!

Who would you bring back from the past releases in WWE?

Carlito, Heath Slater, Matt Cardona, and Shotzi are the first names that popped into my head.

Naomi says her MITB was inspired by Carmella. Thoughts?

Naomi is playing the game, giving a shout-out to her friend, plus using the controversy that surrounded Carmella’s departure from WWE to gather some attention. Good for her.

Would you like to see a rematch between John Cena and R-Truth, but for the WWE Championship? If so, where? And who should win?

I’d love to see this happen. As for where, how about Saudi Arabia and Night of Champions at the end of this month? It’d give the show a big main event, plus it would feature a match that the fans want, especially after this past weekend. As for who wins, blow up the internet and IWC. Truth wins and gets a short run with the title. Cena can win it back at the next PLE, but give Truth his moment in the sun.

Which one should Seth Rollins cash in the MITB contract on? John Cena or Jey Uso.

How about Gunther when he beats Uso later tonight on RAW? Or, going back to my earlier answer about Cena and R-Truth, here’s a scenario that would work for everyone. Truth fights Cena for the belt and scores the win. The internet goes crazy and heads explode. And then, Seth, being the snake in the grass he is, cashes in on Truth to claim the title. The belt is off Cena, Truth gets a moment with the belt, and Seth makes history as well. It’s a win-win-win proposition. I like it, anyhow.

Dave Meltzer recently commented that AEW Collision doesn’t work very well on Saturday nights and speculated that it would be better if it aired on Thursday nights instead. Thoughts?

Even a broken clock is right twice a day and as much as I hate to admit it, Meltzer is right. On Saturday, Collision regularly airs opposite WWE PLEs and Saturday Night’s Main Event and gets crushed in the process. On Thursday, the only regular opposition is TNA Impact Wrestling, which airs on AXS. AXS doesn’t get the viewers that TNT or TBS does, and until TNA gets a better television home, AEW would have a huge advantage. TNA has a better product, plus they have regular crossovers with WWE/NXT, but that doesn’t matter if no one can see it. Plus, Thursday nights would mean better options to coordinate with Dynamite and make the flow of AEW work better. So yeah, Meltzer got one right. But, if TNA ever gets a new television home that’s not AXS, all bets are off.

Could you ever see a WWE vs AEW crossover event happening in the future? Or will one have to be bought by the other first like WCW and WWE?

It’s professional wrestling and given how much TKO values money over tradition, the fans, or professional wrestling in general, never say never. While bad feelings currently exist between the two companies, if the right situation were to happen, or the right financial deals were to happen, all bad feelings and ill will would instantly be tossed to the side. It’s not very likely, but it isn’t impossible either. Money talks.

Who would be on your Mount Rushmore of wrestlers that respect the business the most?

Wrestlers that respect the business above all else? Jim Cornette would be one. The late, great Harley Race would be next. Gordon Solie would be my third pick and as for the last? How about Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart?

And, what is your Mount Rushmore of wrestlers that disrespect the business?

This one is harder because there are so many dipshits out there that are happy to make money from professional wrestling, but have no respect for the business itself and the sacrifices made by so many men and women for our entertainment. Let’s start with Vince Russo. Next would be Eddy Mansfield. Goldberg would be my third as he has long admitted that he was only in it for the money. And the final spot? Let’s give it to Matthew and Nicholas, aka The Young Bucks. I’m not sure how to describe what they do inside that ring, but it sure as hell isn’t wrestling.
