Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Scale 1-10, how happy are you with Becky Lynch winning the Intercontinental Championship?
Lyra was a good champion, but I had a hard time getting into her character and identifying with her as a champion. Becky adds energy and charisma to the title. I’ll give The Man a solid 8.
When should Naomi and Seth Rollins cash in their Money in the Bank briefcases?
When the time is right, it will have the most impact. Naomi and Seth will cash in when it’s the best opportunity to do so.
Jacob Fatu turned on Solo Sikoa. Thoughts?
The WWE has been building to this and at Money in the Bank, after much anticipation, they pulled the trigger and had Fatu make the move when it would have the biggest impact. And now, we’ll get a great feud and some fantastic matches out of this.
Don’t hold back. What are your thoughts on Ric Flair? Are you still a fan?
As a wrestler, Ric was easily one of the best of all time and cemented a legacy that was second to none. Ric is a wrestling legend and in the ring, he has few peers. But, as a person, Ric has an ego the size of China, and a skin as thin as the top layer of an onion. Ric is and will always be recognized as one of the best wrestlers of all time, but the ego, the thin skin, and the lack of character have diminished the legacy and the person. He’s a piece of shit!
Build the best Money in the Bank match, featuring big dudes, high flyers, and insane spots, all using only children’s cartoon characters.
I can’t book an entire match or the moves, but the ultimate cartoon MITB match would be The Tasmanian Devil, Bugs Bunny, Bluto, Daffy Duck, Mr. Hubert, and Wile E. Coyote. And the winner? Bugs Bunny, of course.
Do you think Chad Gable is World Championship material?
Given his performances over this past weekend, at both Worlds Collide and Money in the Bank, Gable has shown the world that he’s capable of being the top guy and a major star. Do I think he’ll ever be the World Champion? Nope. But a run as the United States or Intercontinental Champion? He absolutely deserves it.
Is social media killing or helping wrestling as a whole?
It hurts more than it helps, and that’s a fact. Wrestling was far better before it was so exposed. But social media isn’t going away and like it or not, it’s a major part of every aspect of life these days. There is no mystery anymore, but we’re stuck with it.
If you could take on an animal wrestling persona (Mr. Iguana style) what would be your animal of choice?
Me with an animal-like character or persona. How about Mr. Bear?
Do you think that HHH booking is really in decline? Or has it always been this way and none of us noticed because we were just happy Vince was gone?
The booking of WWE isn’t so much in decline as just monotonous. Triple H has been doing a great job, but the lack of variety shows up after a long period of the same, and while it’s steady and consistent, it loses the spark. Maybe HHH needs a vacation and is suffering from burnout? Hunter has been working steadily for years, and that takes a toll. A few weeks off and a trip to Greece would make a world of difference.
What is next for LA Knight? Still super over, and has raised his in-ring to a good/very good level. Where does he go now, as the title pictures look pretty closed to him?
LA Knight is fine and a few good feuds, maybe a tag team run, is all he needs. And then, back to challenging for the U.S. and Intercontinental Championship. LA Knight just needs to proceed with business as usual. He’ll be okay.
Mr. Iguana versus R-Truth. Who wins?
This would be a great comedy and so much fun. Just imagine the build and pre-match antics of both men. Epic and vintage greatness inside the squared circle. And R-Truth, now known by his real name in WWE, Ron Killings, would win.
