Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
The Miz says that he’s not leaving WWE, and they have a great relationship. He is taking a leave of absence to do the American Gladiators reboot. Thoughts?
Miz explained it quite well. He’s in a great spot with WWE and is arguably one of their best Ambassadors. And now, an opportunity has come up for Miz and American Gladiators, but he’s not burning his bridges. Even with RKO’s greed, Miz is the closest thing that they have to a lifer in WWE. I’m glad that’s been cleared up.
Do you think WWE buried Octagon Jr. on purpose at MITB, or was it just bad booking?
Octagon got a featured match at a WWE PLE challenging for one of the top championships in pro wrestling. I doubt that he or anyone in AAA or WWE would consider that as being buried. I know I don’t.
Do you think WWE is inconsistent with how it handles off-screen controversies? Should Nikki Bella be back on TV right now?
Allegedly, Nikki threw a shoe at her now ex-husband. I don’t consider that to be a life-ban-worthy offense. WWE looks at each controversy and makes their decision on a case-by-case basis, as they should. Maybe it’s not consistent, but it works.
According to Jim Ross, Sable and WWE split because Sable wanted fame and money, but didn’t want to wrestle. Thoughts?
That fits everything I’ve ever heard or suspected about Sable. Sable was not a trained wrestler, although she did learn to take a few bumps. Sable was there for money and glory and little more. I can’t blame her for that. Those bumps hurt.
Would you like to see Enzo Amore back in a WWE ring, or do you prefer seeing him thrive independently?
Let Enzo continue as he’s been doing. WWE doesn’t need him, and he’d be more annoying than anything else. If Enzo wants to be back in the big leagues, his best option would be AEW and getting back together with Big Bill.
What do you think about Mike Tenay being contacted but ultimately not appearing at Worlds Collide? Should WWE and AAA have gone further to bring him in?
I’m not sure how up-to-date on AAA Mike Tenay would be these days considering that he’s been uninvolved with wrestling in any capacity for nearly a decade. From what I understand, WWE and Tenay talked, but couldn’t come to terms on money. That’s a shame, but considering how well Corey Graves and Konnan did, in hindsight, Tenay wasn’t missed.
Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart versus Ricky Steamboat in a two-out-of-three-falls match. Who wins?
They should split the first two falls and then, the final and deciding fall. I think that would go to Rick Steamboat.
Do you think Velveteen Dream has a point about Seth Rollins’ evolving character, or as he says it, stealing gimmicks for the past ten years, or is he just trying to stay relevant?
Pro wrestling and a successful career is all about reinventing a wrestler’s character and image and staying relevant. Nothing is new or original. Seth is doing what every successful wrestler before him has done. Velveteen Dream is just talking to talk and complain and attempt to get attention. That’s all it is.
Do you think Solo Sikoa will get revenge on Jacob Fatu? Is this the true end of the Bloodline as we know it?
In terms of revenge, we’ll see several good matches and a hot feud between the two. Will it work out for Solo? We’ll have to watch and see. As for the Bloodline, so long as there are Samoans and members of the family as part of the WWE roster, The Bloodline will never truly die.
What do you think about Nick Khan stepping in personally after R-Truth ignored WWE for the entire week?
Truth probably felt insulted, and to be honest, who can blame him? Nick Khan realized that a big mistake had been made, and stepped up to fix it. And he did. Truth is back, as it should be.
We got R-Truth back. Now, how about Carlito and Shotzi?
Shotzi wasn’t really anything special, and Carlito has gold in Puerto Rico. I don’t think it’ll work to get either of those two back.
Corey Graves was given high marks for his work at Worlds Collide. Is it time to bring back to either RAW or Smackdown full-time?
Based on his performance at Worlds Collide, Corey should be calling RAW, SmackDown, and all the PLEs. His banishment to NXT should be ended ASAP, and Corey should be on the main roster as quickly as possible.
