Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Asuka is back. Thoughts on the return of the Empress of Tomorrow?
I’m always happy to see Asuka back in the ring. She looked a little slower than I remember during the match on RAW, but I’m sure that after a few more matches, she’ll lose the ring rust and be at the top of her game again. And then, watch out. No one is ready for Asuka. And just a notice. After watching Rhea Ripley get involved in the match with Raquel, while Asuka was doing her thing inside the ring, wouldn’t a tag team of Asuka and Rhea be awesome? I’d love to see it.
Liv Morgan appears to have suffered a shoulder separation. Thoughts?
This royally sucks, especially since it looks as if she was being factored into so many things with Ito Sky, Nikki Bella, the turmoil within Judgment Day, and a rivalry with Roxanne Perez. Hopefully, this injury won’t be as serious as feared and Liv will be able to be used, even if only in a non-wrestling capacity. Best wishes to Liv for a speedy recovery.
Goldberg is back and Gunther is next at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Thoughts?
Goldberg looks old. But this should be a good match, giving Goldberg closure on a good career, and one last moment in the spotlight. Gunther should win the match, but I’m sure that Goldberg will get his flowers and a happy ending.
Ricochet tweeted, “We live in a world of pussies”, about the AEW lawsuit by the technician who was injured by Jon Moxley, before changing his mind and deleting the tweet. Thoughts?
Ricochet is an idiot and speaks without thinking, as seems to be usual with him. This lawsuit is, to me, a result of carelessness by Moxley and AEW, and the dude required surgeries for his injuries. And now, Ricochet insults the guy and adds possible defamation of character to the list of complaints. He’d better hope that lawyers didn’t notice.
Corey Graves was back on RAW, filling in for Pat McAfee. Thoughts?
It was good to see Graves back on RAW. It appears that he’s back in WWE Management’s good graces again, after the excellent job he did at Worlds Collide and now, on RAW. Hopefully, we’ll see Corey back on RAW, SmackDown, and at the PLEs more often now.
Nixon Newell (Tegan Nox) is complaining about the lack of bookings since leaving WWE, claiming that it’s “not great” and bookings are hard to come by. Thoughts?
Newell seems to expect that everyone will be calling her up, begging her to work their shows, and all she has to do is answer the phone. It doesn’t work that way. She wasn’t that big a name and getting booked for shows means making calls, reaching out, and being willing to negotiate on fees, demands, etc. No one owes her anything, and if she wants to succeed on the Indy’s, she’s going to have to work for it and pay her dues. She comes across as entitled with her comments. She needs to reach out and talk to maybe Matt Cardona. I’m sure he could set her straight about the realities of Indy wrestling.
Kevin Nash claims that he spoke with Triple H and that the R-Truth story has been a work since Day One. Thoughts?
I doubt that Triple H told Kevin that. Maybe he did, but my spider-sense says that Kevin is being less than R-Truthful with that comment.
Are you going to be tuning into American Gladiators when it drops?
Given the list of personalities involved, plus The Miz, I will be checking it out. Absolutely.
Do you think WWE should have wrapped up Carlito’s Judgment Day storyline on TV?
It would have been nice. Instead, he’s just gone and no one says a word or mentions him again. That makes no sense and insults the fans, Carlito, and the Judgment Day characters. WWE dropped the ball with this one.
Jacob Fatu & Gunther versus The Road Warriors. Who wins?
Fatu and Gunther are both amazing talents, but I can’t see them working together as a cohesive unit and team. The Road Warriors snacked on danger, dined on death, and would have had a good fight on their hands, but still would have walked out with the win.
