Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Do you think AEW should officially move Collision to Thursdays full-time? Or should they stick to Saturdays and fight WWE for attention?

Ratings-wise, moving to Thursday would be a great move. Fighting against TNA, which exists on a subpar network, AXS would be far easier than going against WWE PLEs and Saturday Night’s Main Event. If TNA ever finds a good cable or streaming home, it might be a different story, but for now, AEW moving to Thursday nights would obviously be best for business.

Is TNA the best place for underused stars to prove everyone wrong?

It seems to be doing a good job so far. I would say that for talent to gain exposure and reestablish their reputation after a rough moment in their careers, it seems to work quite well.

Is Liv Morgan’s character more compelling as a heel or a babyface?

Liv was boring as a babyface. As a heel, she’s excellent.

Magnum TA versus Damian Priest. Who wins?

What a clash of styles this would be. Magnum was a very good wrestler, charismatic, with the classic good looks, personality, and a simple, but effective finisher in the belly-to-belly suplex. And Damian Priest, he’s a former World Champion at the top of his game. It’d be a great match. Magnum would probably win.

If their dad had not been the promoter, do you think the Von Erichs would have been as successful as they were?

Nope. This is not discounting the talents of Kevin, Kerry, David, etc. The men were all talented in the ring and had major skills. It’s the personal habits where the problems lie. The Von Erich boys had a bad reputation for being unreliable. They missed shows quite often, and if they did show up, they would be under the influence of something as often as not. Fritz looked after his boys but with any other promoters, such as Ole Anderson, Vince McMahon, Jim Crockett, Eddie Graham, etc., the habits would have been a major issue and they would have been shown the exit.

What wrestlers would you like to see featured in a documentary?

I’ve spoken on this before, but I want to see someone delve into the marriage of Johnny Weaver & Penny Banner, wrestling’s first power couple. The story of Ann Casey would be great. And for more modern fans, how about Harley Race, William Regal, or Lisa Moretti, aka Ivory?

Do you remember a wrestler named Paul Christy? He had a manager named Bunny Love and worked in the Midwest. Thoughts & memories of the Golden Boy?

I remember the name, but not much else. He worked mainly around Chicago, and under the tutelage of Dick the Bruiser. Bunny Love was his wife, and I seem to remember that they had a long feud with Spike Huber, who was, I believe, their son-in-law. A popular territory wrestler, Christy worked for the WWF as a jobber in his latter years, and retired, along with Bunny Love, in 1990. He passed away in 2021 at the age of 82.

Which wrestler will be a World Champion first? Wheeler Yuta or The Scapegoat, Jack Perry?

It won’t be the Jungle Boy. That’s for sure. Yuta isn’t all that, but at least he’s still one of Tony Khan’s favorite toys and gets featured regularly in AEW as part of the Death Riders. Yeah, given the choices, Super Huuman Yuta definitely will have more of a chance than Perry.

What would be your Mt. Rushmore of Shocking Heel Turns?

Hogan joined the nWo, Windham turned on Luger and joined the Horsemen, Cena turned Heel, and Jimmy Hart turned on Hogan to give The Giant the World Championship.
