Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Should Christian Cage return to WWE for one last run?
Christian should finish up the AEW stuff, return to WWE for one last match, and then get a Hall of Fame induction, a Legend’s Contract, and retire to a life of cameos, personal appearances, and signings.
Who do you think currently deserves to be named ‘Booker of the Year’, and why is it, Evil Uno?
I like Evil Uno, but Booker of the Year? Does he even book matches or work for Creative? Hell, he’s got my vote. I’m sure that Meltzer would agree, so long as he’s not involved with WWE.
What are your thoughts on Bill Goldberg facing Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, despite not having wrestled in three years and losing his last four world title opportunities?
It’s a nice piece of nostalgia and it’s giving Goldberg a chance to have a big goodbye. It doesn’t make sense, but it’ll draw fans and make money, and for TKO, that’s all that matters.
Who is your Mount Rushmore of bald wrestlers?
Stone Cold Steve Austin, Baron Von Raschke, Kurt Angle, and Bobby Lashley.
What are the 3 matches you’d show to someone unfamiliar with wrestling if you wanted them to get into it?
The Midnight Express versus Flair/Windham, from the NWA Clash of the Champions IV, Michael Youngblood versus Ethan Storm, from Durham, NC, in the early ’90s, and the WeeLC match from WWE Extreme Rules 2014 between El Torito and Hornswoggle.
What do you think WWE can do to improve the women’s tag division and Raw men’s tag titles?
Have the champions defend the belts on television regularly against a variety of opponents. Get out there and wrestle.
If Cena were to turn face again before the end of the tour, against who and when would it most likely happen?
Let’s go with Seth Rollins as the who. As for when, whenever Seth decides to cash in the MITB contract on Cena, that’ll be all it takes to “open Cena’s eyes” and bring him back to the right side.
In case Austin Theory is one day let go by WWE, do you think he would fit in well in AEW?
If WWE is that stupid to let Theory go, he should go to the highest bidder, make the most money, and wait for WWE to realize their mistake. And yes, that would probably be AEW.
Who’s a wrestler currently off TV (either for injury or otherwise) you are most looking forward to seeing return? Who would you say is the ideal opponent for them to return against?
Brock Lesnar. I’m ready to see him come back, toss a few people around, and then go after the Heyman/Seth Alliance. Brock versus Breakker or Brock versus Bronson Reed, either one, would make for a great return.
Who in your opinion is the greatest in-ring wrestler of all time?
I’m almost reluctant to say this because his behavior and antics since he ‘retired’ have pretty much wrecked his legacy but for the ’80s and ’90s, Ric Flair was the best, period. Now, I hate to see him mentioned or spoken of because I know he’s probably done something dumb or embarrassing, but I can’t discount the past. I just wish he’d put down the bottle, shut up, and just go away. Hell, screw Flair. Let’s go with a man no one can say anything bad about. Beautiful Bobby Eaton. ‘Nuff said!
