Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Does AEW need a subtle brand split? Not specifically with rosters but storylines. Having certain storylines advance only on a certain show.

Forget about a brand-split. What AEW needs is consistent booking, stories that explain why things are happening instead of random matches just being thrown out there, and structure. Brand splits are okay, but that’s just a band-aid. AEW needs a full body cast and surgical team.

Do you think WWE and TNA signatures will ever crossover into each other’s promotions? A TNA Royal Rumble? Ultimate X at WrestleMania?

I wouldn’t think so, but it’s pro wrestling, and given their current partnership, never say never.

Do you think Bryan Danielson will wrestle again?

If he’s getting involved in matches and making the save, as he did this past week, then trying to wrestle is at least an option he’s considering. For the sake of his future health, I would hope not, but yeah, I think he’ll try to wrestle again.

Will you be watching Okada vs. Omega or Goldberg vs. Gunther on July 12?

Goldberg versus Gunther. I at least know both men in this match, and there’s a story. Plus, WWE is having a big weekend with both Evolution and Saturday Night Main Event. It’s kind of a must-see TV.

If Vince makes another wrestling company who are some top stars that you think would join it?

Honestly, I can’t think of any top stars that would be willing to work for Vince anymore. Maybe Brock Lesnar, for the money, Joey Ryan, and Ric Flair. But that’s all I can think of.

Ray “The Crippler” Stevens versus MJF. Who wins?

MJF is a great talker and a good wrestler. Ray Stevens was a legend, and he earned that reputation with both his wrestling skills and speaking ability. This would be a good match and these two men could bring the house down in any arena. The winner though? Ray Stevens.

Is Mercedes Moné the greatest women’s wrestler of all time?

Nope. So long as women like Asuka, Charlotte Flair, Ivory, Madusa, Sherri Martel, Rhea Ripley, Bayley, Bianca Belair, Fabulous Moolah, Selina Majors, Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, and Victoria all exist, Mone is just another woman wrestler.

Do you think more public figures in wrestling should speak out on issues like Juneteenth and social justice?

On their own time, absolutely. It’s their right. But they shouldn’t use the promotion they work for, and their character to stir the pot in ways that reflect back on the company. Use common sense when offering an opinion on controversial issues, or be prepared for any consequences or backlash that might happen.

Do you think Vince McMahon’s past explains his behavior, or are some things just inexcusable?

We are all products of our environment and upbringing. From what I understand, Vince was sexually abused and mistreated as a child, and while that doesn’t excuse aspects of his behavior, it makes more sense for parts of it. It doesn’t excuse anything but simply clarifies it a bit.

Matt Lyda, who was the cohost of The Undertaker’s podcast, Six Feet Under, has been replaced… by Michelle McCool. Thoughts?

Mickie James was replaced on LFG, at the insistence of The Undertaker, by Michelle McCool. Inducted into the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame, due to her husband, Michelle McCool. And now, the new cohost of The Undertaker’s podcast, Michelle McCool. Yeah, he’s whipped, big time. It’s obvious who wears the pants in that family.
