Every day, my Twitter feed is filled with dozens of random questions. This is where I provide the answers. It’s the Ultimate X Q&A. My, how the time has flown by. It’s number 135, and I’m still standing. Let’s do this.
What type of cuisine would you serve your customers if you owned a five-star restaurant?
If I’m running a restaurant, it’s a very simple menu. Hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, and onion rings. Simplicity really is the best. Install a jukebox and have a business for making memories.
How did your parents meet?
I don’t know. I wasn’t around at the time. But I know how my Mom and stepdad met. She worked at a drug store that had a lunch counter. He ate lunch there every day. And one day, the seats were full so they shared a table. And the rest was history.
What’s the fanciest event you’ve ever attended?
I think it was my Junior Prom in high school. Dougie don’t do fancy.
What period would you travel to if you were given a time machine?
I’d be bouncing around all over the timeline, but the mid-50s would be a must-visit period for sure.
Should the voting age be lowered or raised?
Voting, as well as owning a gun, buying alcohol and cigarettes, joining the military, getting married, signing contracts, and being legally an adult, should all be the same age, age 18.
Do you agree with President Trump’s decision to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities in Furdow, Natanz, and Esfahan?
Yes. He’s the President and I fully support our President.
Do you put the shopping cart back when you’re done?
Every single time. It’s common courtesy and respect.
What’s the first thing you think of when you see Roseanne Barr?
I think of her show, Roseanne. It’s still one of my favorites and probably the most realistic show in sitcom history.
What’s your Mount Rushmore of breakfast food?
Eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes.
Can you remember your home phone number from when you were growing up?
I remember our home phone number from Raleigh, our phone number from living in Maxton, and my Grandma Vick’s phone number from South Point, Ohio. But with my current cellphone number, I have to constantly recheck and look. Go figure.
What’s your favorite exotic animal?
A koala bear. That would count, right? They’re so damn cute.
What makes your day better?
Talking to my bro. And writing, being creative, without interruptions. But mainly anytime I can speak with or be around my bro-son. I love that dude way much.
Do you believe that love is blind?
It’s not blind, but instead, allows a person to see what no one else can see, the hidden parts, the magic, the true person behind the image or superficial cover. And yeah, it can make a person stupid as well. But real love, it’s a magical and amazing thing.
What’s the most beautiful country you’ve ever visited?
I’ve never been outside the United States, so the U.S. wins by default. And the most beautiful part? Looking out over the ocean at sunrise, watching the sun slowly come up over the vastness of the ocean.
What was your favorite radio station in high school?
WQSM, Q98, from Fayetteville, NC.
What is your main reason for getting out of bed every day?
Usually, I have to pee and don’t want to wet the bed. Plus, I have responsibilities with the cat and dog. They depend on me and I can’t let them down. Otherwise, I’d probably just stay in bed and away from the world as much as possible.
How could you politely end a conversation with a person who is so annoying?
I simply tell the truth. I have something to do, someone is waiting, or just excuse myself. I hate small talk, so it’s not hard to do.
What has been your greatest kitchen mistake?
I don’t make mistakes in the kitchen. I’m actually an excellent cook when I want to be. A mistake is simply an adjustment, nothing more.
Would you rather cook or eat at a restaurant?
I’d rather eat. Food is our friend.
Do you like to save more or spend more?
I like to save. Money is tight at times and I’m not spending more than I need to or wasting if it can be avoided.
What are your phobias?
Elevators, large crowds, heights, and spider crickets.
What is the most stupid thing you’ve done in your entire life?
Danny. Or was it Chad? Maybe Chris? Nope, it was walking away from Eric. I handled that badly. I miss my dude so damn much.
If you could only drink coffee or tea for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
I don’t care for either, but I guess tea is more bearable than coffee. At least with the tea, I can pretend to be British and speak with a bad accent. I’ll take the tea.
What’s the easiest dish to cook?
Chicken nuggets. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees, put the nuggies on the cookie sheet, and bake for 20 minutes. What can be easier than that?
And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s close up the shop today. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the Sock Hop.
