Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Tony Khan recently commented on signing free agents, saying, “It’s a high bar to reach this roster, and we want to maintain the quality.” Thoughts?
A high bar? Be friends with The Bucks or own a pair of trunks and know how to do a flip. That’s not a high bar.
Beth Phoenix is teasing a return to WWE at Evolution 2. Would you like to see The Glamazon return to WWE?
Beth Phoenix is a good wrestler and has a long history in WWE. A one-night return by the Glamazon would be a good thing.
Do you believe Claudio Castagnoli’s absence from AEW television has hurt the Death Riders?
Honestly, if the announcers hadn’t mentioned it, I doubt anyone would have noticed. That story, with Moxley and the Death Riders, is such a convoluted mess, that I doubt anyone is truly paying attention or cares right now.
Do you think The Rock would’ve survived in the UFC? Or is he right to stick with Hollywood and WWE?
If The Rock were to try UFC, he would have lasted probably about as long as CM Punk did. They would have whooped his candy ass. Dwayne should stick with WWE and Hollyweird.
With AEW unifying the Continental Title with the International, are they going to get rid of the Continental Classic or will it continue under a different name and for a different prize?
Tony Khan loves tournaments and there really doesn’t need to be a reason to make them happen. The tournament will continue, and the only possible change is that the winner might be named #1 Contender for the Unified Championship.
CM Punk apologized to Saudi Arabia for the tweet from six years ago. Thoughts?
Yes, he was probably forced to make the apology, and yes, Punk is a hypocrite. But it’s 2025, and professional wrestling; he obviously got paid well for that apology. More power to Punk for that.
Cena did a pipe bomb, so Punk did the Word-Life. Thoughts?
It was funny and made for good television. The two promos were the best thing about the Cena versus Punk feud. I enjoyed both of them, although Punk having to lay there for 12 minutes and fake a coma was pretty bad. The rest of it though, until the actual match, was good.
Giulia is the NEW Women’s United States Champion. Thoughts?
Zelina Vega was a transitional champion and now it’s time to push the big new star. Good for Giulia. Now, we watch and see how this works out.
With Chad Gable out for injuries, should WWE drop the El Grande Americano character or maybe have other wrestlers, The Creed Brothers for example, wrestle under the mask and prove once and for all that Gable and Americano are two different people?
While Chad is out, I would love to see various wrestlers show up with the mask under the identity of El Grande Americano. Keep the gimmick and story alive as long as possible. It’s a shame to drop the character so suddenly just because of an injury to Gable. Let each Creed Brother wear the mask. Let Apollo Crews wear the mask. Have Omos show up wearing the mask. It could make for a great story on TV, and bring in lots of money for WWE.
Would you want to see Samantha Irvin join AEW? Should she be a manager, booker, or both?
If she’s in AEW as a talent, she should be the manager/valet for Ricochet and this alleged faction that he wants to create. That makes the most sense to me.
