Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Would the WWF have gone national with Ric Flair or Dusty Rhodes instead of Hulk Hogan?

Flair might have worked but with Dusty? Nope, I just can’t see him and Vince getting along and working together for any significant period of time. Honestly, given that both Ric and Dusty had been stars before WWE did the expansion, that may have been a problem too. Hulk was relatively new and Vince could mold & use him how he wanted. With Dusty or Ric, that wouldn’t have been an option. So, I would say no to both men.

It’s been two years since AEW’s Jungle Boy ceased to exist and became known by his real name, Jack Perry. How has that worked out for him?

The name change worked out fine, but everything else seems to have fallen apart. Perry hasn’t wrestled in AEW since Full Gear 2024 and despite a couple of appearances in New Japan, seems to have vanished from pro wrestling. Allegedly, he’s still under contract with AEW, but given how his behavior led to the issues with CM Punk, he’s persona-non-grata.

Who would be on your Goofy Wrestling 4 Life Mt Rushmore? And since it’s goofy, make it six names instead of just the usual four.

R-Truth, Santino Marella, Danhausen, Hornswoggle, William Regal, and Bobby Heenan.

A picture of Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, and Jinder Mahal, also known as 3MB, at Jinder’s wedding is circulating. Would you like to see 3MB reunited in WWE?

It needs to happen. Drew gets into a feud and is losing because of the numbers game, so he calls back up. And here comes 3MB. Admit it. You’d pop. I know I would. And Heath is in great shape, ready for a WWE return. I saw him a few weeks ago and he’s the new Wrestling with Purpose Champion. But yes, I would love to see 3MB make a return.

Now that it’s ended, how would you relate Zelina Vega’s reign as the WWE Women’s United States Champion, on a scale of 1-10?

It looks nice on the resume, but Vega’s run was “Eh!” at best. Forgettable and not memorable at all. Vega is a talented wrestler, but I just can’t see her as a top star. I liked her best when she was the manager for Andrade and Angel Garza. She’s a talented performer, but for this run with the United States Championship, I’d give it a 5 at best.

How would you rate WWE Night of Champions on a scale of 1-10?

It was a solid show, and everyone worked hard. That being said, something was missing. The audience was hot for the entire show, but that ending for Cena/Punk was so overbooked, that it killed a lot of the energy for me. I’ll give it a 7 out of 10.

What do you think about Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo staying with AEW and not wanting to join WWE?

Sammy and Tay both said that AEW treats them very well and noted that they’re under contract with AEW, so honestly, what would they say? Mariah May and Ricky Starks both were open about possibly going to WWE someday and look what happened to them. Sammy and Tay have it made in AEW and so long as it continues to work for them, more power to them, as it should be.

The fans at the post-show had some very loud chants for Matt Cardona. Is all this attention leading to Matt Cardona’s WWE return, or is it just wishful thinking?

The fans chanted for Matt while Triple H was speaking, so you know that he noticed. The WWE fans want to see Cardona back in WWE and eventually, he’ll be there. It all boils down to when the time and story is right. Maybe Cena can do an open challenge as he used to and Matt can show up unexpectedly for a match. Either Matt or Joe Hendry. But Matt will be back. At least I hope so.

So, the new King and Queen of the Ring are Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill. Thoughts?

I predicted Cargill. I think I picked Orton over Cody, but that match was excellent and could have gone either way, so I’m not disappointed or surprised. It makes sense from a storyline sense.

Hikuleo will be known as Tala Tonga. Thoughts?

His brothers are being called Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa so the name isn’t really a suprise. It makes sense weirdly, but personally, I wish they had stuck with Hikuleo instead. It’s WWE though, so it’s to be expected.
