Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Do you think WWE can pause the numerous multi-person matches they are presenting? Actually, you can throw in AEW with the recent 14-man and 10-man matches they held. Are these kinds of matches even necessary anymore?

If they have meaning and are happening for a reason, they’re not so bad, but yes, I agree with you that there are far too many. And anything overdone cheapens the match. WWE and AEW both need to scale back and remember that less is more.

Do you think companies can take a long pause in breaking announce tables? Especially in WWE. It seems to happen every week.

If they don’t break tables every week, how will we see the Slim Jim logo? Breaking tables is just like the multi-man matches mentioned earlier. If it happens too much, it cheapens the impact and doesn’t mean as much in the big picture of things. Both in WWE and AEW, it happens too much and thus, means little.

If Tony Khan contacted you to co-head the AEW Creative Team, but your creative partner would be either Vince Russo, Vince McMahon, or Mercedes Mone, would you take the job? And which partner would you choose?

Vince McMahon would try to control everything and it would never work. Mone doesn’t have the experience or knowledge necessary to be creative or book a show. So, by default, Vince Russo would be my writing partner. And yes, even with the forced baggage, I’d take the job.

What do you do with New Day after that underwhelming championship reign? Would taking some time off be good for them?

The most recent New Day run was less than excellent, as you pointed out, but taking time off wouldn’t fix it. New Day needs a solid feud/rivalry to reestablish their place on the roster and maybe add some comedy/levity to RAW. Hell, add a new member to create some heat. Grayson Waller has been hanging around so Waller joins the New Day and turns on Theory, thus giving Theory the babyface run and a solid feud as well. The main thing here is that New Day needs a solid storyline and feud. Against the right people, not the War Raiders, that would make all the difference.

With all of the all-time greats that he signed while head of talent relations in WWE is Jim Ross the greatest talent evaluator of all time?

I wouldn’t say he’s the greatest. Not with people like William Regal still in the picture, but he’s got a great mind for the business and knows his stuff. If only his current employers would take notice and listen more often. JR can spot talent for sure. That’s a no-brainer.

With so many international stars in WWE and AEW, do you feel the recent ICE and Immigration arrests will soon hit wrestling companies that have signed performers who are on work visas and may be here on temporary statuses (although they might be here legally)?

If the talents are legal and have their paperwork in order, they have nothing to worry about. It’s only the illegals that have anything to fear.

I’m sure Kevin Knight and Mike Bailey are nice guys… but? Why is Jet Speed being presented as a threat to the Hurt Business? Is Tony Khan living vicariously through them, a little man finally standing up to the bullies?

We’re talking about Tony Khan so who knows why he does anything that he does. With teams like FTR, Billy Gunn’s sons, Private Party, etc, all on the roster, the legit big stars that are Lashley and Shelton, are being given jobbers to carry and play with, even though there is no way Knight and Bailey could legit beat them. Maybe Tony and Bailey are discussing that Speedball nickname and this is Bailey’s reward. It’s AEW and Tony Khan. I can’t explain it.

Should Miss Elizabeth should be in the WWE Hall of Fame?

Given her career and legacy, yes. Given the way that she passed, it probably won’t ever happen. WWE should at least induct her via the Legacy Inductions if nothing else. If Randy Savage is there, she should be as well.

Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Bobby Eaton, Larry Zbyszko, and Michael Hayes versus The OG Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa & Sami Zayn). Who wins?

Look at all this talent. Legends and future legends. This would be a banger of a match. I can’t see the egos of Blanchard, Hayes, and Zbyszko all peacefully working together. Disharmony in the ranks would be the difference maker here and the Roman Reigns-led Bloodline would win.

Arn Anderson won championships with many different wrestlers as partners. Who never teamed with Arn, but would have made a great partner?

Did Arn and William Regal ever team up? That would make for a fantastic team. Double-A and Bret Hart would have worked well together as a team too. Their styles would mesh, much like Arn and Zbyszko did as The Enforcers. And Gene Anderson. Think of how well Gene was with Ole Anderson and the success they had. Gene and Arn would have been magical as well.
