Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Fight to the Death in an enclosed room. Who’s walking out? Haku, Steve Blackman, Kurt Angle, or Brock Lesnar.
To the death? It’s a tough call here with that stipulation added. If push comes to shove, I think Haku would be the most merciless in a pure fight and the most dangerous. Blackman works as a bondsman, so he’d be rather ruthless as well. Brock is just a monster of a man, while Kurt is the best pure wrestler. But that wouldn’t be enough. Haku would be the one left standing at the end.
What is your Mt. Rushmore of Heel Turns?
Hogan joins the nWo, Zbyszko turns on Bruno, Windham turns on Lex Luger to join the Horsemen, and I guess we’ll round it out with Cena turning on Cody.
Do you think we’ll ever see Cena versus The Rock III?
Nope. Between Cena’s retirement and Rock’s schedule in Hollyweird, I don’t think it will ever happen.
Penta versus Wahoo McDaniel. Who wins?
Penta would fly around and might keep Wahoo rattled for a while, but the first time that he slows down, Wahoo would proceed with the chops and take Penta down. Wahoo wins.
Who’s next in line to be WWE’s top babyface after Cody Rhodes?
It’s a tough call, but if they ever make the move and give him the chance, Austin Theory seems most likely to me. He just needs the opportunity and he’s going to open a lot of eyes and make people take notice.
Zeus, aka Tiny Lister versus Pat McAfee. Who wins?
No offense to Pat, but this match would be terrible. Zeus was a good actor and I enjoyed him in Fridays, but in the ring, as a wrestler, he was beyond awful. I’ll go with Pat for the win.
So far, seemingly, the only legends booked for WWE Evolution 2 appear to be Nikki Bella and Trish Stratus. Thoughts?
Since getting this question, Madusa and Jazz have been added by WWE and will be at WWE Evolution 2. I’m not too worried about it as of yet. Evolution is on Sunday, and today is Wednesday. That gives WWE plenty of time to contact legends and book them to appear, even if it’s only to do cameos in the front row. I’m sure we’ll see more names added as the week progresses.
The Kabuki Warriors are back together. Thoughts?
This is good news in my opinion. Kairi, since her return, seems a bit off track. Working in the tag team with Asuka will give her plenty of chances to work off the ring rust and step up her game without it being so noticeable. Plus, I’m a fan of Asuka and Kairi as a team, so that works as well.
Dewey Robertson. What are your thoughts and memories of this Canadian legend?
Dewey is probably better known as The Missing Link. As for himself, I saw him wrestle a few times for Crockett. Great body and solid wrestler, but not very much charisma. Talented, but not a top-guy type of wrestler. And from what I’ve heard since, he was an odd fellow backstage, even by wrestling standards. Dewey was decent, but in my opinion, the change in character to the Missing Link was the best thing that ever happened to his career.
Recast the ’70s sitcom Welcome Back Kotter, using wrestlers as all the main characters.
ForMr. Kotter and his wife, Julie, I’d go with Kurt Angle and Missy Hyatt. For Vice-Principal Woodman, how about a trimmed-up Dutch Mantell? And as for the Sweathogs, I’d cast John Morrison as Vinnie Barbarino, Kofi Kingston as Boom Boom Washington, Miz as Arnold Horshack, and finally, as Juan Epstein, let’s go with Carlito.
And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Reach me by e-mail at Doug28352@yahoo.com or on X at @Doug28352.
