Tossing Salt Presents:
WWE Saturday Night Main Event
Thoughts & Predictions

Coming up this weekend, live on Peacock and Netflix International, it’s the WWE and the return of Saturday Night Main Event. As I’m writing this, on Thursday morning, only three matches were announced for the show. I’m sure that something will be added on SmackDown on Friday night, so I may wait and post this on Friday night. Or I may do it this morning and just update the post if anything is added. I’ll figure it out later.
But, as I said, three matches are announced, and why the hell not? Let’s make a few predictions. Are you ready? I said, ARE YOU READY? Let’s roll.
Update: I went and took a nap. I woke up an hour later and checked online. Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis has added another match. So, now there are four. Let’s do this.
WWE World Championship – Goldberg’s Last Match
Gunther (c) versus Bill Goldberg.
It’s his last match, so I can’t see Goldberg taking a clean pin. But I can’t see Gunther losing the World Championship either. But luckily, a third ending is available. What if Gunther gets overconfident and Goldberg sneaks one in and scores the surprise win? We have a new World Champion. I’d hate to see it, but I think that’s how it will go. And then, as Goldberg celebrates, here comes Seth and friends, cashing in the MITB contract. And Seth wins. So Goldberg wins the match and the title, thus padding his resume with one more and a win on his way out. But then Seth comes in, cashes in, and wins the belt so he and Gunther can fight over the title at SummerSlam? Works for me.
Winner and NEW World Champion: Goldberg.
LA Knight versus Seth Rollins.
LA Knight will put up a fight, but Seth has friends and the numbers game always wins. Not YEAH!
Winner: Seth Rollins.
Randy Orton versus Drew McIntyre.
Drew needs the win more than Randy does. Drew wins and Randy gets mad at himself, leading to the eventual heel turn. That sounds like a plan.
Winner: Drew McIntyre.
WWE United States Championship
Solo Sikoa (c) versus Jimmy Uso.
It’s too soon for Solo to lose the belt, plus he has his own personal Bloodline to run interference if things get too crazy. Jimmy is a good dude and a good wrestler, but he’s not a main event like his brother is. Solo should retain.
Winner and STILL WWE United States Champion: Solo Sikoa.
And there you go. I wonder if Jesse Ventura will be there to call some of the action. I hope so. It’ll be a good show and a fun mid-way point for what is a stacked weekend of WWE and wrestling in general. I’ve given my predictions. What are yours? Let me know, along with any other thoughts, comments, or questions. And I guess that’s all for now. Take care and I’ll see you at the matches.
