AEW will present All In: Texas from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas this Saturday at 3 PM Eastern, live on PPV. It’s AEW’s biggest event of the year so far, and their first American-based Arena Show. Are you ready for a few predictions? Let’s do this.
AEW Champion Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page.
It’s time to get the belt off of Moxley. It’s also time for a huge return or a big surprise. I think we’ll get one of those matters resolved. It makes no sense, so I expect Moxley to bleed buckets but find a way to retain the title. And we’ll see the return to AEW of Darby Allin to set up the next challenger for the title. Yeah, that sounds right.
Winner and STILL AEW Champion: Jon Moxley.
Swerve Strickland & Will Ospreay vs. Young Bucks: No AEW Championship Matches for a Year vs. The Bucks’ EVP status.
I hate that ‘no championship matches’ stipulation. Remember how well that worked for Cody Rhodes? Even if they give up their EVP status, will this change anything with The Young Bucks? No, I don’t think so either. But if the Bucks lose, it will show that they’re ‘team players’ and doing what’s ‘best for business’ for the company. Look forSwerve & Ospreay to get the win.
Winners: Swerve Strickland & Will Ospreay.
AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm vs. AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone.
This will either be the best match on the show or it will be so overbooked that it falls apart and looks terrible. Title unification matches rarely work out, so maybe we’ll get some outside interference and the match will be thrown out, kicking the can down the road for another day. Yeah, that makes the most sense. Look for some blatant interference that even the AEW referees can’t ignore and someone, let’s go with Mercedes, gets the DQ. Thus, Toni wins the match, but the belts stay where they are, and this situation lives on for another day.
Winner by DQ: Toni Storm.
AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada vs. AEW International Champion Kenny Omega.
Given recent interview comments by Omega about his medical problems, I wonder why he’s even trying to wrestle. He’s really putting his health on the line every time he steps into the ring. That being said, we’ll have a decent match. Stiff, but short and entertaining. And the winner and new champion? Let’s go with Okada.
Winner and NEW Unified Champion: Kazuchika Okada.
AEW Tag Team Champions The Hurt Syndicate vs. Christian Cage & Nick Wayne vs. Speedball Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight.
It’s hard to imagine anyone beating Lashley and Shelton, but I think it will happen here. It won’t be the team expected, aka Bailey & Knight. Let’s pull a surprise and twist. I guess we’ll see the return of Adam Copeland, aka Cope, and he’ll be seeing to make amends and reunite with his best friend, Christian. And between Kip Sabian, Mother Wayne, and Cope, the numbers game is too much for The Hurt Syndicate and MVP, especially when MJF fails to make the save. We’re getting new champions.
Winners and NEW AEW Tag Team Champions, Christian Cage and Nick Wayne, aka The Patriarchy.
AEW Trios Champions The Opps vs. Gabe Kidd & Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta.
The Opps are Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata. Has Hook been medically cleared to return to action yet? He’s part of the group too. This match should be good, all things considered, but it’s a throwaway match at best and, despite the addition of Gabe Kidd to the mix, will be quickly forgotten ten minutes after the match ends. I don’t see any reason for a title switch.
Winners and STILL AEW Trios Champions: The Opps.
AEW TNT Champion Adam Cole vs. Kyle Fletcher. (CANCELLED)
Kyle Fletcher is a talented dude, but in my opinion, already seems to be flaming out and losing momentum fast. I just don’t see Adam Cole losing any time soon. Cole retains.
Winner and STILL AEW TNT Champion: Adam Cole.
Fatal 4-Way Match: TNT Championship (UPDATED)
Daniel Garcia versus Dustin Rhodes versus Kyle Fletcher versus Sammy Guevera.
This match was just added as current TNA Champion Adam Cole has vacated the AEW TNT Championship. Shouldn’t this be for an Interim Championship, as they did yesterday with the ROH Women’s Television Championship? It seems that Cole is injured and not medically cleared to wrestle, so he’s being stripped of the title. But they didn’t strip Red Velvet in identical circumstances. This is why it’s hard to take AEW seriously. As for this match, I can’t see Garcia or Sammy winning. Fletcher is the obvious pick, but they’re in Texas and Dustin Rhodes is in the match. Yeah, let’s go with Dustin for the win, to give him three titles to his credit.
Winner and NEW AEW TNT Champion: Dustin Rhodes.
Casino Gauntlet Match.
The participants are MJF, Mistico, Ricochet, Brody King, ROH World Champion Bandido, and Mark Briscoe, with the winner getting a future shot at the AEW World Championship. Just pretend that it’s Money in the Bank but with a Gauntlet format instead of ladders. I think it’s safe to assume that Ricochet, Brody King, and Briscoe aren’t winning. I’d eliminate Mistico as well. So, either Bandido or MJF? Imagine if MJF wins here while the Hurt Syndicate loses their match. That would make for some great TV. Let’s go with that.
Winner: MJF.
Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match.
The participants are Megan Bayne, and Kris Statlander, and four participants that, as of this writing, Friday morning, have yet to be announced. Based on comments by Tony Khan at a media event a few days ago, I expect Thunder Rosa to be at least one of the surprise entrants. And the other three? We’ll have to wait and see. It doesn’t matter though, really, I’ll go with Statlander to get the win and the future title shot.
Winner: Kris Statlander.
ZERO HOUR: FTR vs. The Outrunners.
FTR lost the 8-Man match on Collision, so they’ll get the win here, just because.
Winners: FTR.
ZERO HOUR: Don Callis Family vs. Big Boom AJ & Hologram & Kyle O’Reilly & Tomohiro Ishii.
Why is Big Boom AJ still wrestling? And Hologram? He was brought in as a big star. Look at him now, in less than a year. Hell, look at the Don Callis family. From fighting MJF and Kenny Omega to this? It’s a damn shame. As far as this match goes, no one will remember it by the time the main show begins, so I’ll go with the TikTok pseudo-celebrity, the overrated Luchador, the Bike Rider, and O’Reilly to get the win.
Winners: Big Boom AJ, Hologram, Kyle O’Reilly, and Tomohiro Ishii.
And there you go with my predictions. What are yours? Let me know, along with any comments, thoughts, or questions you may have. And with that, I think I’m done. I have to go feed the cats now. Fuego, named after Fuego Del Sol, is demanding my attention. Be good, my friends. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you at the matches.
