Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Kevin Von Erich has signed a Legend’s Deal with AEW. Thoughts?

I didn’t even know that AEW has a Legend’s Deal, but I guess that they do. Good for Kevin. I hope he makes plenty of money off of this.

Have you ever seen Ric Flair wrestle live?

Several times, including a match here in Laurinburg, NC, against Buddy Landell, who was coincidently managed by James J. Dillon. In his day, Flair was the man and never failed to have a great match. I also met Flair at a signing that he did for a local car dealership here in Laurinburg a few years ago.

TKO is allegedly interested in buying the TV rights for TNA for $10 Million. Thoughts?

It makes sense and would be good business for both TNA and TKO. This is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

What are your thoughts and memories of Waylon Mercy?

I wasn’t a big WWE guy at the time when Mercy wrestled, but I remember him. Big guy, somewhat psychotic, and used a head-vice as a finisher. I remember and know him better as Dangerous Dan Spivey, from his time in Crockett and the NWA. A solid talent who rarely fails to make an impression.

Ricochet called it a bitch move that WWE intentionally schedules programming to compete with AEW. Thoughts?

And honestly, does anyone care what Ricochet thinks? AEW threw shots at WWE first when they started and well, actions have consequences. Yeah, it is petty, but WWE has been doing things like this since the ’80s and Jim Crockett Promotions. Is anyone surprised? Should they be? Ricochet just needs to quit talking.

What is the worst wrestling gimmick that you’ve ever seen in person?

A fat guy with a beard, sweatpants, and a flannel shirt, trying to be Hardcore. His name was Dick Foley. Yeah, it was that lame.

If Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis were both fired from WWE tomorrow, who would you replace them with as the General Managers of RAW and Smackdown?

To replace Pearce and Aldis, my first thoughts were of William Regal and Bobby Roode. Both men work for WWE, are at every show, and are great characters and talkers. Regal has prior experience, and as for Roode, it would be GLORIOUS!

Dustin Rhodes has allegedly signed a new six-year deal with AEW. Do you think Dustin Rhodes made the right move by sticking with AEW long-term?

This is not news. Dustin announced it himself back in December on his X account. He’s happy, obviously making great money, and feels that AEW is currently what’s best for him and his family. I think he’s doing what he feels is best. Good for Dustin.

Who are you hoping to see make a surprise appearance at Evolution 2?

I’ve already spoken of this many times, but I want to see appearances by Baby Doll, Missy Hyatt, Mickie James, Gail Kim, Victoria, Vickie Guerrero, Awesome Kong, and of course, Ivory.

Would you rather see Shayna continue wrestling or make the move to the full-time producer behind the scenes?

Shayna has explained that the producing a match just sort of happened. She was at the PC and filled in for a bit. And when her in-ring career is over, maybe being a scout, trainer, or producer will be an option. But for now, I’d like to see her in the ring, kicking ass and winning titles, because yes, she is that damn good.
