Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
How would you rate WWE Evolution 2 on a scale of 1-10?
It was better than I was expecting, and although the Battle Royal dragged for a few minutes, the show exceeded all of my expectations. And that main event certainly delivered. On a scale of 1-10, I’ll give it an 8.5.
What are your thoughts on Naomi cashing in the MITB Contract and winning the World Championship?
It was different and a surprise that nobody saw coming. Naomi has been on fire since turning heel, and this was a great moment. I liked it.
Should WWE make Evolution an annual event?
Yes. The show was off the charts and delivered, checking off every box on the list. Keep it, and I would love to see more.
Why didn’t Jesse Ventura call a match at SNME?
I guess that after the fiasco with the Drew McIntyre versus Damian Priest cage match in the prior SNME, Jesse is on thin ice, and WWE seems to have decided that less is more and are just using him in the opening segment. I can understand why.
Rate the 5 PLE/PPV events of this past weekend from best to worst.
The best, in my opinion, was WWE Evolution. After that, I’d rank it as SNME, AEW All In: Texas, Great American Bash, and then finally ROH Supercard of Honor.
Seth Rollins is expected to be out of action for 4-5 months. Thoughts?
The seriousness of the injury is being debated, but regardless of that, it’s never good to see anyone get injured. Here’s wishing Seth a speedy and safe recovery.
Should WWE start an all-women’s promotion?
I think it would get old fast and grow stale. WWE seems to work best with a variety of talent, both men and women, on the shows. I’d watch an all-women show and check things out, but that isn’t for WWE to do. WWE can do Evolution as a special event, and it works quite well, but a regular show would remove the bloom from the rose. So, my answer would be no.
AEW All In: Texas is now the longest-running PPV in wrestling history, with a run-time of over six hours, not including Zero Hour. Too long or not? Thoughts?
Including Zero Hour, it was over seven hours. And can anyone name one moment that stands out and will be talked about ten years from now? It’s all about quantity instead of quality, and it shows. A full work day for one show is way too much.
So, RAW runs a Gauntlet Match two days after AEW ran two Gauntlet matches on All In: Texas. So, who is copying whom?
Yes, that was kind of dubious and lazy booking on WWE’s part, but as I mentioned in the last answer, who remembers the details of the AEW show? It was two days later, and AEW and WWE appeal to different audiences. Lazy booking, but who cares at this point?
Do you want to see Travis Scott return to WWE, or do you think they should move on?
Travis Scott belongs in the same category as The Rock at WrestleMania. Forgotten and never spoken of again. Dump his ass and move on.
