Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Buff Bagwell had his right leg amputated. Thoughts?

This majorly sucks, and it’s something I can relate to as I had my right leg amputated a few years ago. And being an athlete, an actor, a model, etc., Buff is going to take it badly, and it will be a rough recovery. Maybe it’s karma for the days of being Buff, but I wouldn’t wish anything like this on my worst enemy. And on top of this, he’s trying to maintain his sobriety. Thoughts and prayers out to Bagwell for a painless and speedy recovery. And I know he’ll never see this, but if Marcus ever needs someone to talk to, who can relate, give me a shout dude. A strong support system and an unbiased ear can sometimes make all the difference.

Should WWE Evolution happen every year or every few years to keep it fresh and special?

I was thinking that making it an annual event would be best, but I can see how that might kill the magic. So, how about every other year, alternating with a Legend’s type event similar to how WCW did Slamboree? One year, do the women and the next, do the legends. Rorate it and keep the magic alive. Works for me.

Ric Flair has pulled out of the ATL Comic Convention due to health and personal issues. Thoughts?

I was going to make a joke about Ric not wanting to leave the bar long enough to do a signing, but I won’t go there. Ric recently had surgery for skin cancer and has lots of medical issues. Best wishes to Flair for a speedy recovery. Hope he’s feeling better soon.

Who was the WWE Champion when you first started watching?

My family was going to wrestling events in Raleigh, NC, when I was 4-5 years old, which would have been 1971. I’m not sure of the months we attended, so it was either Bruno Sammartino, Ivan Koloff, or Pedro Morales.

Do you think AEW made the right call in ending The Bucks’ authority storyline?

It’s only a storyline, but yes, it was still the right call.

Do you want to see AJ Styles wrestle in TNA again? Should it be Trick Williams or Mike Santana who gets the match?

AJ Style in TNA again would be cool. And since Styles is a baby face, Trick Williams as an opponent makes the most sense.

What advice would you give to new wrestling fans?

Don’t let anyone make your decisions for you. Enjoy what you find entertaining and like.

Haku, Andre the Giant, Tully Blanchard & Arn Anderson, w Bobby Heenan versus Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Solo Sikoa w/ Paul Heyman. Who wins?

The Heenan Family versus The Bloodline. This would be a fun match, and watching Heenan and Heyman square off would probably be the best part. If Andre was in his prime, this match wouldn’t even be a contest, but by the time he was in the Heenan Family, Andre was in bad health and barely hanging on. The Bloodline would get the victory.

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, and MJF versus The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Barry Windham) in a War Games Match. Who wins?

Another epic dream match. The difference maker here would be JJ Dillon, the infamous manager of The Horsemen. A great match, but in the end, JJ would slip Tully the shoe, and the winners. Diamonds are forever, and so are the Four Horsemen.

What are your thoughts on Junkyard Dog?

JYD in Mid-South was amazing. Then, he went to WWE, started getting lazy, and was half-assing it. And by the time JYD was in WCW, he was just a broken shadow of what he used to be. JYD had charisma and skills, but the demons took over, and he was never the same.
