Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Can you think of any current big stars that never should have made it, and only nepotism or politics have carried them through?
The only one I can think of is current NXT GM Ava. If she weren’t The Rock’s daughter, she’d be working at McDonald’s instead of for the WWE.
The Bloodline story has gone on forever, but there are no female members of the group in any incarnation of the faction. Why? Thoughts?
There are plenty of talented females, such as Nia Jax, Naomi, Tamina Snuka, and even the aforementioned Ava, who are part of the family and could easily be inserted into the Bloodline story. As Rhea proved with Judgment Day, and Madusa showed with the Dangerous Alliance, and Chyna showed with DX, a woman used correctly only adds to the faction. It’ll happen eventually. The only real question is when.
Bryan Danielson says that WWE sometimes feels like a ‘parody of wrestling.’ Thoughts?
WWE is sports-entertainment. That was made clear years ago. And how can someone who works for a company that sets people on fire, burns houses, hits people with cinder blocks, stabs people with needles and scissors, and has Timeless Toni Storm as their top female, talk about another company being a parody of anything? Danielson is being a major hypocrite and nothing more.
WWE offered Gage Goldberg an NIL deal, but Bill Goldberg declined the agreement. Thoughts?
I would think the decision would belong to Gage and not Bill, but I get it. Bill wants Gage to go in with special treatment and be a WWE Nepo-star instead of just another guy being given an opportunity. WWE wasn’t offering enough money to start, so Bill said no. I’m sure that they’ll eventually work it all out, and we’ll see Gage in a WWE ring.
Do you think Booker T should do a WWE retirement tour?
We already have Cena retiring. We don’t need Booker to be doing it too. And Booker has made it clear that he’s fine with the in-ring career ending as it did. So no retirement tour for Booker T.
Cardi B. versus Bayley is allegedly being teased for SummerSlam. Thoughts?
Bayley would be a good, safe opponent for Cardi B. Naomi and Cardi have traded insults on X, but Naomi is tied up with the World Championship now. I guess Bayley is the replacement. If Cardi actually has to wrestle, Bayley is probably the best option.
Would you like to see MTV reboot Celebrity Death Match?
Didn’t MTV2 already do that? Well, if they didn’t, then they should. I want to see Vince McMahon versus Tony Khan. That would be a hoot!
The Hardy Boys won the TNA Tag Team Championship at Slammiversary and now will be facing the Dudley Boyz at TNA Bound for Glory. Thoughts?
So, I guess they’re not retiring anytime soon. A nostalgia match with Matt & Jeff versus The Dudleyz will be fun to see. It should also help keep those TNA numbers up. I’m looking forward to it.
Tessa Blanchard has been suspended from TNA. Thoughts?
If I remember correctly, didn’t Tessa have some minor injuries that she was working through a few weeks ago? This will give her time to rest up and heal from any nagging wounds. And for storyline purposes, Tessa is suspended from TNA, but what stops her from showing up at NXT and ambushing TNA/NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne? Think about it.
