Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Ric Flair says Tiffany Stratton bringing up Charlotte Flair’s divorce in her promo was a cheap shot. Thoughts?
It was a cheap shot, but Charlotte was talking about her failed marriages on a talk show just days earlier, so it wasn’t a backstage secret. It was public knowledge and fair game. Plus, it had people talking and was the most effective part of an otherwise sad build-up to their match. Ric might not have liked it, but it worked.
Who is one person you want back in WWE, and one person you want out of WWE?
I’d like to see WWE bring back Heath Slater and Matt Cardona, plus Joe Hennig as a manager/agent. As for who I’d say goodbye to, the Viking Warriors would be given the pink slip.
Bronson Reed jacked Roman Reigns’ shoes. Thoughts?
It’s the ultimate sign of disrespect and being a bully. It fits the character of Bronson Reed perfectly and adds to his heel persona. I like it. It’s the small things that matter.
Which celebrities would you want to see step into a WWE ring?
If we have Jelly Roll, I’d like to see Struggle Jennings show up as well and do something. Add Yelawolf as a manager, and there you go.
Do you think WWE should give top stars more freedom with creative decisions?
The wrestlers should always have some say as to what their character is doing, and their opinions should matter. But the booker should have the final say in any decisions.
Pete Dunne has been working as a producer for AAA, in addition to his wrestling duties. Thoughts?
The Bruiserweight is also wrestling at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport against Jonathan Gresham, so he’s a busy man these days. But working for AAA, helping to add structure and a WWE style to the promotion, that works too. Dunne is working on a life after the in-ring action ends. That’s smart thinking. And Dunne is certainly qualified for the new role. There are rumors that he also may be occasionally wearing a mask, but that’s crazy. Dunne is from the UK, so how could he be a luchador?
Ric Flair on Goldberg’s Retirement Match: “Bill’s got enough money, I don’t think he needed to do that”. Thoughts?
Yet, this is the same person talking who retired, had a great send-off from WWE, and then was in TNA a few months later. And then retired again in a disaster of a “Final Match” event, and even now, at age 76, still talks about maybe one more match and taking bumps. Flair has no right or reason to talk about anyone’s retirement match. Frankly, he just seems jealous to me that Goldberg is getting some attention.
Do you think Linda Hogan crossed a line by posting a fake video of Brooke Hogan allegedly saying she won’t attend Hulk’s funeral?
I praised her yesterday for keeping quiet about Hulk Hogan and not making any public comments, and then she posts an AI-generated video of her daughter, and even after it’s revealed to be fake, she doesn’t seem to care. This is going to get messy and wild, and I expect that Linda will be showing her crazy and petty pretty vividly in the months to come. It’s not going to be good.
Rikishi has pulled out of WrestleCon, which is taking place at the same time as SummerSlam. Thoughts?
Will Solo and the MFT finally have their own Wise Man? It sure seems like it. We’ll probably find out this weekend.
Bubba the Love Sponge says he regrets letting his wife have sex with Hulk Hogan. “He probably was at the low point of his life… I was trying to cheer my buddy up, and it was a complete mistake.” Thoughts?
So, that’s what friends do? You’re feeling bad, so here’s my wife. Bubba is a moron and absolute sleeze. A mistake? Yeah, I think that’s safe to say. And by the way, I’m feeling a little down. Hey friends, give me your husband or boyfriend. Nope, not happening, damn it. Bubba is an absolute jackass!
