Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Bad Bunny is labeling himself as the greatest celebrity wrestler of all time. Thoughts?
Bad Bunny did well during his time in the WWE, but the greatest? I think Mr. T, Dennis Rodman, David Arquette, Stephen Amell, Kevin Greene, and a few others might disagree.
Both A&E and CW have reportedly been rumored to be in talks for a new TNA TV deal. Thoughts?
Either network would be a step up from their current home on AXS. I think Tony Khan might need to polish up that #2 spot and get ready to hand it over. TNA is coming for that spot.
Allegedly, Andrade and Los Garza have been pushing for WWE to use Alberto Del Rio on the main roster. Other Mexican wrestlers on WWE’s roster and AAA talent have also been advocating for his return. Thoughts?
Del Rio has friends. That’s obvious. But ask Paige if Del Rio should return. Ask that woman he kidnapped and sexually assaulted. Ask the guy in catering who he assaulted. Actions have consequences, and based on his actions, WWE should not bring Del Rio back for any reason.
So, John Cena makes apologies and is now a baby face? What does this all mean?
The heel run has been a disaster since Day One, and now it seems that WWE is saying, “Oops! Never mind!” about the whole deal. Will it work? Will the fans buy it, and will all be forgiven? Probably. Daniel Bryan said it best when he described fans as being fickle. It’ll be interesting to see where this all goes.
Jay Youngblood versus Jey Uso. Who wins?
Jay was a tremendous wrestler in his time and held many tag team titles during his all-too-short career. But Jey is a multi-time tag team champion as well, plus he has held singles gold as well. It’d be a great match, but I think Jey would come out on top with this one. Yeet!
Do you think WWE should finally bring WrestleMania to London, or should it stay in the United States?
WrestleMania should stay in North America, either in the U.S. or Canada. If London wants a major event, my suggestion would be SummerSlam.
Does Bob Sapp belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Bob Sapp had a tremendous career in Japan, working both MMA and wrestling, but would best be known for a brief NFL career, working for NWA Wildside, and for his appearance in Adam Sandler’s The Longest Yard in 2005. He’s had an amazing career and is currently working with Fight Circus in Thailand. So far as the WWE HOF goes, he’s just well-known enough in the States that I could see an induction at some point, except for one big black mark. In December 2017, a woman who was allegedly Sapp’s girlfriend accused Sapp of six years of domestic violence, complete with pictures and an apology letter, allegedly from Sapp. No charges were ever filed, but it made the newspapers in Japan. For that alone, I don’t see Sapp ever being inducted.
Do you think Brock Lesnar will ever return to WWE?
Once the legal issues with Vince McMahon and Janel Grant are settled and things settle down, I can see WWE bringing Brock back for one more run and maybe a HOF induction. Brock hasn’t been accused of doing anything, but his name was mentioned, and thus, he remains unavailable for now.
Rikishi versus Jacob Fatu. Who wins?
Rikishi might be the Uncle, but Jacob is the badass. I’d pick Jacob to win.
Would you like to see Alexa Bliss bring back her dark character?
The full, possessed, super-powered character? No, I wouldn’t. But if Alexa showed flashes of darkness and a more serious, evil side to her persona, maybe with some unofficial alliance with The Wyatt Sicks, I wouldn’t complain. Keep the character and wrestler realistic, but mood swings and a vindictive nature would be cool to see.
