Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
So was Seth Rollins really injured, or was it a work all along?
Seemingly, it was a well-planned work. Seth and WWE worked the fans, the doctors, and the other wrestlers. And it worked quite well.
Will Paul Heyman ditch Seth Rollins for Brock Lesnar in the coming months?
No, I don’t think so. Heyman has a great thing going with Seth, Bronson, and Bron. And Brock doesn’t need Heyman to fight Cena and be the Beast. I could see Heyman hiring Brock as a bounty hunter and Enforcer, but Heyman will remain The Oracle for a ways to come.
Naomi’s dad got to play guitar for her intro. AJ Styles had his son with him as he drove out in Eddie Guerrero’s car. WTF? Is this WWE or Family Ties?
It was a cool moment for Naomi and a cool moment for AJ. It was a nice gesture by WWE and makes both Naomi and AJ more relatable to the fans.
Lyra can no longer challenge for the Women’s IC title. What’s next for Lyra? And who is Becky’s next challenger?
Lyra’s next move will be a war against Bayley, and maybe a challenge to Naomi. Or maybe she’ll go to promo school and take some refresher classes. She definitely needs it.
With the huge success of SummerSlam, WWE is considering expanding Survivor Series, Money in the Bank, and the Royal Rumble to two nights. Thoughts?
WrestleMania and SummerSlam make sense. Any other PLE event would be way too much. If WWE reduced its prices, the idea of multiple two-night events wouldn’t be so bad, but right now, it would be too expensive for the average fan to attend that many double-night events.
Should AEW start doing two-night PPV events?
It would probably make the shows easier to watch, but knowing AEW, they would probably cram 15 matches on each night, and each show would run five hours. AEW can barely sell out one night of events, so two would be nearly impossible. It probably wouldn’t be a good idea.
Do you think Dominik Mysterio is right to claim the 619 as a family-only move, or is it fair game for anyone in WWE?
It’s fair game for anyone in the WWE to use, but Dom is a heel, and complaining about everyone else using it is what he should be doing. Others using his family’s move is perfect heel material, and being mad about it makes total heel sense.
Do you think Dominik should embrace the cheers and turn baby face, or keep playing the heel fans love to hate?
The best thing to do is not to change. The fans like Dom because of who he is and what he does. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it, and Dirty Dom Mysterio is the guy fans love to hate. Why ruin that?
Jelly Roll is considering doing a cover version of Randy Orton’s theme, Voices. Thoughts?
If Jelly Roll covers it, it should be good. Hopefully, Struggle Jennings will sit in on the recording session and add some background tracks to the song. Regardless, Jelly doesn’t make bad music. A cover of voices should be good.
After Brock is through with John Cena, who’s next?
A brief rivalry with Bron Breakker would be good, and maybe a few fights with Jacob Fatu. And all of this should lead to a match at Mania with Gunther.
