Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

The WWE PLEs are moving to ESPN in 2026. Thoughts?

And when it begins, my days as an internet wrestling journalist come to a close. ESPN will run thirty bucks a month, and a subscription. Add that to Netflix for RAW, cable for SmackDown, and it’s all just too damn much. This is a big move for WWE, and being aligned with ESPN/Disney looks great on the resume. It just sucks for the average fan.

What are your thoughts and memories of Dino Bravo?

Strong dude, but not a good talker. I remember seeing him in Crockett, and he was there, but nothing stands out. Sadly, the biggest thing I remember about Bravo was the way that he died, murdered by multiple gunshots, allegedly as part of a cigarette smuggling ring. That, plus being the Canadian Champion a few times. Being strong and his death are the only stand-out things I remember.

Have you ever tried wrestling as a hobby?

Did I ever try to wrestle? Nope. I’ve taken a slam and a few bumps from my wrestling friends, but that was just playing around. I love wrestling, but I don’t like pain or extreme physicality. And it’s not a hobby. It’s just my dirty little obsession.

Mr. Iguana versus The Boogeyman. Who wins?

La Yesca versus The Worms. What a match this would be. I’m groaning at the thought. Can you see Boogeyman trying to slime the stuffed puppet? Iguana is smaller, but faster and more agile. And the winner? He’s the Boogeyman, and he’s going to get his arm raised.

If WWE offered you a spot on their pre-show panels at the PLEs or a spot as part of the Creative Team, which would you choose?

I’d pick the panel shows. Being part of the creative would be fun, but the writers are generally anonymous, plus I know I would be fired within a few months for not playing well with others. But the panel shows would expose my face, name, and character to the WWE audience, and I could easily take that exposure and turn it into a podcast or some other job within the wrestling industry. Being part of the pre-show panel would be instant credibility and far more useful in the big picture of things.

If Seth Rollins and Triple H really worked the talent and faked that injury, how would you feel if you worked for him and were a friend of Rollins?

I get it, and while I probably wouldn’t be happy about it, I don’t see it as a big deal. I see it as doing what’s best for business and necessary to prevent leaks and preserve the story.

After watching Jade Cargill get better every week, how could Tony Khan let her leave AEW?

Jade is far better now than she was as part of AEW, but she wasn’t all that in AEW, and Tony probably didn’t see the long-range marketability with her. Tony seems more focused on instant gratification and isn’t good at long-range planning or stories. She was stagnant in AEW and didn’t want to be there, and he didn’t know how to fix that or what to do with Jade, so he let her leave.

What’s your opinion of Trick Williams? He seems past due to hit the main roster, and there’s not much else for him to do in NXT from my viewpoint. The TNA crossover seems to have given him something fresh to do, but that’ll end too.

As loaded as the main roster is right now, Williams is actually better off in NXT, where he can shine, continue to improve, and work more regularly against a variety of opponents. There is no need to rush things, and Trick’s time on the main roster of WWE will come soon enough.

The Natural Disasters, Typhoon & Earthquake, versus Kronik, Brian Adams & Bryan Clark. Who wins?

The Natural Disasters may be WWE Hall of Famers, but as we all know, then, now, and forever, it’s all about Kronik. Clark & Adams win.

Austin Theory has been removed from WWE’s active roster internally. Thoughts?

I saw earlier today that Austin has been moved to the injured listings, so his absence is due to an injury of some type and not because of any heat or contractual issues. Eventually, he’ll be back, and when he does return, he and Grayson Waller can do their thing.

John Cena only needs the Intercontinental Championship to become a grand slam champion, so Cena versus Dirty Dom? Yes or no?

It would be interesting, but with Cena’s limited time left, I don’t see it happening. Cena has more than enough accolades. No reason to get greedy. Let Dom enjoy his time as the IC Champ.
