Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Who do you think is next for Cody Rhodes?
Based on what happened on SmackDown this past Friday night, I would say Drew McIntyre.
Ladder Match: Shawn Michaels versus Ricky Steamboat. Who wins?
I don’t recall Steamboat ever working a Ladder Match. This would be an excellent fight for sure. It’s a tough call, but I’ll go with HBK on this one. And I checked with Grok. I was right. Steamboat has never worked in a Ladder Match. That makes me more confident in my choice. Shawn Michaels would win.
Jim Ross recently revealed that his AEW contract expires this month. Should AEW and Ross keep the relationship going, or should Ross retire from the announce table?
If AEW is willing to keep paying him and use him sparingly, as the legend that he is, stay with AEW and get the money. Ross isn’t what he once was, but it’s still Jim Ross, and that has to count for something.
Batista versus Barry Windham. Who wins?
Barry Windham with the win, and it’s not even close in my eyes. With both men in their primes, Batista has the power edge, but Barry has everything else. Windham wins.
You’re starting your own wrestling Hall of Fame. Six names, but they can not be part of the WWE Hall of Fame. Who you got?
Only six names? I’d choose The Anderson Brothers (Ole & Gene), Bob Caudle, Dutch Mantell, Baby Doll, Missy Hyatt, and Raven.
Jim Ross also revealed that he’s spoken to Buff Bagwell, who apologized, and they’ve cleared the air over past differences. Thoughts?
Buff and Ross have acted like adults, realized that stupidity in the past should stay there, and as each faces current struggles and hardships, have buried the hatchet. That’s cool.
WWE has completely gone silent on NXT Europe. Thoughts?
WWE has so many things going on, with the main shows, NXT, TNA, AAA, Bloodsport, Evolve, and LFG, the deals with Netflix and ESPN, etc., the idea of the European branch of NXT has probably been set aside for the time being. It’s just lost in the shuffle of other priorities.
Do you want to see Dominik vs. Rey Mysterio in AAA?
I would never say no to watching Dominik slap around the deadbeat Dad. And AAA makes sense, and would be a good draw. Make it happen, WWE.
Do you see Dominik Mysterio as a baby face or a heel character?
I see Dominik as a popular heel, a tweener. The heel antics are what make him popular, and if he were to change, drop the bad boy tactics, and embrace the fans, it would destroy the character. Dom is and should remain the spoiled, obnoxious heel. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be Dominik Mysterio.
Ivy Nile says that she wants singles matches against Jordynne Grace and Asuka. Thoughts?
Adam Pearce, are you hearing this? And how about you, Ava? Get to work and make these matches happen. Make it official!
