Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Bret Hart claims WWE doesn’t respect him and refused to save him a seat after inviting him to SummerSlam. Thoughts?
But they made sure that Kevin Nash had one. Yeah, Bret made sure to point that out. I think Bret is just bitching and being petty, like an old man yelling at the clouds. Bret is losing it. If this actually happened, and I have my doubts, WWE would have found Bret a seat.
Do you prefer the Sasha Banks character or Mercedes Mone?
As Sasha Banks, she was good and had her moments. As Mercedes Mone, she’s nearly unbearable.
Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs recently revealed that a recurring infection in his foot has returned, and he may end up having to have his foot amputated. Thoughts?
I feel for Knobbs on this, as I’ve gone through the same thing. An infection in my right foot led to an amputation a couple of years ago, and now, I’m currently dealing with an infection in my other foot. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. All I can say to Knobbs is, don’t rush it. Get second and third opinions before getting the cut. And keep fighting. Best wishes to Knobbs for a strong healing and recovery. I’m praying for you, dude!
Have you seen the recent series of videos with Danhausen and the APA (Ron Simmons & JBL)? Thoughts?
I’ve seen the videos and I laughed. Danhausen is a funny dude.
Do you miss Eddie Kingston?
Nope. Kingston did nothing for me as an AEW superstar, and I don’t see that changing. He’s a brawler and an interesting character, but he adds nothing to AEW or wrestling in my opinion.
Vince McMahon says that Hulk Hogan wasn’t racist. Thoughts?
Nobody is perfect, and we’ve all done and said things that we probably shouldn’t have. If anyone claims that they haven’t, they’re a liar. Hogan made some stupid remarks and did some stupid things, but I’ve never heard of Hogan refusing to wrestle someone because of their race or being blatantly disrespectful to someone only because of their race. There were always other situations and circumstances involved, which clouded the situation. Hogan had a racist moment, but I see where Vince is coming from. There’s plenty of good there as well, and in the big picture of things, I think that needs to be factored in.
According to Moose, Oba Femi will go down as a generational talent. Is Moose right?
I’m not sure about being generational, but Femi is damn good, as a character and an in-ring performer. The man has skills.
Do you think WWE intentionally leaks false information to the wrestling media?
Do they intentionally leak things to Meltzer so he can make a fool of himself? I think that they may do that, and if they’re not doing it, they should.
Rescheduling PPVs to affect their buys, partnering with other organizations to affect their numbers, from a number 1 to a number 2 that poses no real threat to the monolith. Seems, idk, illegal? Thoughts?
It’s called the wrestling business. If a promotion picks a fight, then revenge happens. Remember the Monday Night Wars? AEW started taking shots at WWE, and now, they’re dealing with the consequences. It really is just that simple.
Do you think WWE should let Natalya bring Nattie Neidhart to the main stage, or is the character better off staying outside the company?
Nattie is the best version of Natalya and would make a welcome addition to the WWE product. WWE should take advantage of the opportunity and use this to push Nattie as a top star.
