Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
What are your thoughts on WWE and Undertaker replacing Matt Lyda with Michelle McCool on the Six Feet Under podcast?
Lyda doesn’t seem too upset by the displacement, but it seems rather two-faced and wrong in my opinion. Lyda did the legwork, while Taker was there to talk and tell stories. And he’s dumped by his friend so McCool can get the spotlight. He’s a better man than I am in regard to the dismissal. And the show is suffering from his absence. WWE and Taker did him wrong.
Beast Mortos is allegedly upset over the appearance of Taurus at AAA TripleMania XXXIII and all of the similarities between Taurus and himself, including the horns on the mask, the character, etc. Mortos tweeted, “Preparing the lawsuit! See you in court.” Does Mortos have a lawsuit against AAA, WWE, and Taurus?
And almost immediately, Mortos has backed down and has tried to play off the original tweet as being comments about a criminal domestic violence case, to being a joke that wasn’t even about Taurus. The people on X jumped on him, and he started backpedaling fast. There’s nothing to see there. It’s just out of context. Yeah, sure it is.
Triple H recently noted that The Undertaker was the driving force behind the recent AAA/WWE expansions and will play a significant part in the creative direction of AAA. Thoughts?
So, how long will it be before Michelle McCool wins the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship? Taker is a good choice to help teach the AAA talent the WWE style of wrestling and what WWE expects. I just wonder, between LFG and the podcast, how long this gig will last?
Jade Cargill revealed that she and Naomi wanted to use mace and razor blades as part of their No Holds Barred match at WWE Evolution, but WWE wouldn’t allow it. Thoughts?
And that’s the difference between WWE and AEW. AEW would not only have allowed the mace but probably encouraged it, and half the front row would have ended up being sprayed. I’m glad cooler heads prevailed and the adults spoke up and said no. You can take the wrestler away from AEW, but the bad habits learned there are still strong.
Can AEW continue thriving under WWE’s shadow, or will the constant head-to-head scheduling eventually hurt Tony Khan’s company?
I wouldn’t call what AEW is currently doing ‘thriving’, but they’re still hanging in there, albeit less and less each week. So long as Billionaire Tony is willing to spend the money, AEW will survive.
Rikishi says that Jade Cargill is like a “reborn Chyna, the black version”. Is Rikishi right? Thoughts?
A great look, but limited in talent and actual skills. Yeah, I can see the resemblance.
Matt Riddle says that Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar might beat him in WWE, but they couldn’t beat him in a street fight. Thoughts?
Riddle has a strong MMA background and might be able to take Roman in a legit fight, but Brock has the same MMA background plus several NCAA Wrestling Championships to his credit, and a huge size and power advantage. Brock would destroy Riddle.
According to Chris Jericho, his AEW deal ends in December 2025, and he’s open to a WWE return, depending on the situation. Would you like to see Jericho return to the WWE?
Have Jericho return to the WWE for a program, the return of The List, a Hall of Fame induction, a match at Mania, and then retirement. That sounds like a plan to me.
You’re a WWE writer and have to turn one of these men heel. Which one are you choosing? Penta, R-Truth, Sami Zayn, or Jey Uso.
Penta already has a lot of heel tendencies, so he’s the one I’d choose. Sami and Jey sell too much merchandise, and Truth is too good as a comedy wrestler. Penta is the natural choice.
AEW has done more damage to the wrestling business than it has helped. Yes or no?
The competition has made WWE better, plus AEW provides a lot of jobs to a lot of talented people. That is all good and positive.
