Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Cultaholic is reporting that Matt Riddle was scheduled to compete against Simon Miller at the inaugural event for Al Snow’s Global Wrestling Kingdom this past weekend, but no-showed the event, kept his deposit, and worked a Boca Raton Championship Wrestling event instead. Thoughts?
Since this all broke, Riddle has returned the deposit, made a lot of excuses to TMZ, and was removed from a fan convention. Riddle didn’t make the date, makes excuses, and is an idiot. He’s an entitled did shit. ‘Nuff said.
Why don’t you do an audio version or video version of the Q&A? It would add greatly to your site.
I’ve thought about it, and if I could record in peace, with no interruptions, dogs, cats, parents, phones, I’d probably do it. Right now, I have too many outside presences making themselves felt to get more than two minutes of work done before I would have to stop.
What is your dream scenario if AJ Lee does return to WWE this week?
She returned last night on SmackDown, and that was pretty much it.
TKO has extended its exclusive partnership with T-Mobile Arena. This will result in four UFC and two WWE events annually. Thoughts?
TKO likes to run shows in Las Vegas and thus, is spending more time there. Does someone have a gambling addiction? It’s TKO, and they’re looking for money.
AEW has filed a trademark for ‘The Swirl’. Thoughts?
Allegedly, this has something to do with Swerve Strickland, or maybe The Young Bucks will put someone’s head into a toilet and flush during a backstage angle. I’m scared to think about it too much.
Reboot the original Star Wars movie, but with wrestlers in the starring roles. Can you do it?
For the big three of Luke, Leia, and Han Solo, I’d cast Brad Baylor (Swipe Right), AJ Lee, and The Miz. Obi-Wan Kenobi would be played by William Regal, while C3PO and R2D2 would be portrayed by Ludwig Kaiser & MicroMan. Chewbacca would be played by Omos, while Darth Vader would be portrayed by Gunther. And the Emperor, let’s use Paul Heyman.
Why is everyone so excited about AJ Lee? I can’t remember anything she did except being some sort of prize for the men to fight over. I just don’t get the hype. Is it just the ghost of people’s youth back for nostalgia again?
Whatever it is, based on the reaction last night, the fans are happy she’s back. Maybe it is nostalgia, but whatever it is, it seems to be working.
Looking ahead, if Cody turns heel in the next year, who would you position as the opposing face to topple him? Conversely, if Ospreay wins the big one at All In, who would be the most impactful opponent for that match and subsequently his first feud?
If Cody goes heel, the first opponent would be Sami Zayn or Jey Uso. Ospreay is due for upcoming neck surgery and is going to be out for a while, so he won’t be winning any titles at All In or any other time soon. When he returns, I expect to see Ospreay feud with Moxley and The Bucks.
Jimmy Valiant versus Larry Zbyszko. Who wins?
After Larry stalls for twenty-five minutes, and Boogie does all his comedy spots with the referee and announcers, we’d actually have a good match between two men with a long history. And the win goes to the Living Legend. Zbyszko wins.
Would you like to see Rhea Ripley turn heel again and rejoin Judgment Day?
I’m not sure about turning heel, and rejoining Judgment Day, as it currently is, wouldn’t work. But I do expect that we’ll eventually see a reunion of Rhea and Dominik, and possibly a one-night reunion of Rhea, Dom, and Damian Priest, as babyfaces. That’s quite a way in the future, though. I don’t see Rhea as a heel again anytime soon.
