Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Daniel Garcia lost again to Moxley on AEW Collision. After the match, he took the microphone from Tony Schiavone and said that after five years in AEW, he’s got nothing to show for his ‘incredible performances.’ He then said five years have been good, but good is no longer good enough. He then walked out with Daddy Magic. Thoughts?
It’s all a story that has been done many times before. Either Garcia will come back with a new attitude and start beating people, or he’ll vanish for eight months, come back in a tag team with Daddy Magic, and live in the mid-card forever. This is a non-story.
Daniel Garcia & Daddy Magic versus Disco Inferno & Alex Wright versus Fandango & Tyler Breeze. Who wins?
This would be an awesome and fun triple-threat match. They are treated as jokes now, but Breezango and The Boogie Knights were both strong, established, and successful tag teams. And Garcia and Matt Menard could easily be a top team in AEW if they were used properly. This match would rock, with comedy spots mixed with great wrestling, to keep the audience on their toes. And the winners? Disco Inferno and Das Wunderkind, Alex Wright, the Boogie Knights.
Someone threw a green dildo on the field at the Cleveland Brown’s game, and they were getting thrown on the court of the WNBA games too. How long before someone throws one in the ring at RAW or Dynamite?
I’m surprised that it hasn’t happened yet either, but sooner or later, I’m sure it will.
Dory Funk, Harley Race, and Jack Brisco versus Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Jon Moxley, the Shield. Who wins?
The Shield would put up an excellent fight, and this would be a good match. But Roman, Seth, and Moxley are sports entertainers, while Funk, Brisco, and Race were all shooters. The three former NWA Champions would score the win.
Should WWE do a full tribute show to honor the memory and legacy of Hulk Hogan?
WWE has regular events honoring Mae Young, Dusty Rhodes, and Andre the Giant, so a regular event to honor Hulk Hogan makes sense. It’ll probably happen sometime within the next few years or so.
Eric Bischoff recently remarked that he feels the ratings for AEW Dynamite will continue to sink to below 300k by the end of their current TV deal. Is Eric right? Thoughts?
If AEW continues the path they’re on now, Eric is probably right. AEW needs a complete reboot.
Nick Nemeth says that AEW needs to do something to make headlines, outside the box, to counter the WWE’s constant onslaught against them. Is he right? And what would you suggest?
Nemeth is right, and AEW needs to draw some headlines to attract some eyes and put butts in the seats. They need some good wrestling and stories to keep the audience, but they need to find a way to draw the fans in. And I don’t know what or who they should use or do. I’m drawing a blank.
Chris Van Vliet wants you to pick his next five guests. Who you got?
AJ Lee and Brock Lesnar are the obvious choices. And the other three that I’d like to see? Disco Inferno, Vince McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon.
WWE Hall of Famer President Donald Trump has written the foreword for Tyrus’s new book, What It Is, America. Thoughts?
Congratulations to Tyrus on the new book and all of the success he’s experienced over the past several years. From a former Funkasaurus to one of the most successful talking heads on television, it’s been a helluva ride. The book should be a good read. As for President Trump writing the forward, it’s nice to have friends. It’s a great coup for the former NWA Champion.
Ronda Rousey says she has no reason to go back to WWE because none of her friends are there. Thoughts?
Does WWE even want her back? WWE is a job and a business, so friends shouldn’t matter. And if there is money to be made, WWE would bring back people if needed. She’s probably not just worth the effort to them anymore.
