Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

When asked about another fight, Ronda Rousey says, “Never say never”. But she says she’ll never fight at the White House. “I mean, you know, after Mike Tyson being the biggest fight of the year, you never say never. But I ain’t fighting at the fking White House. I got better st to do.” Thoughts?

I doubt Ronda would be invited, but despite her comments, I have a feeling that if she were actually invited, she’d be there in a flash. Ronda is just running her mouth, trying to kiss up to the woken crowd. Nothing else.

AJ Lee is back. Thoughts?

She is so tiny and hasn’t aged a bit in the past ten years. Did you hear that pop on Fruiday night? I’m glad to see her back.

Brock Lesnar is back and will be facing John Cena at WrestlePalooza. Thoughts?

This should be an excellent match, as Brock versus Cena rarely fails to deliver. A legendary rivalry comes to an end with one last match. It’ll be a banger for sure.

If you were to write a book about professional wrestling, what would be the topic?

I’d love to see a book about wrestling’s first power couple, Johnny Weaver and Penny Banner. Banner dropped hints in her excellent book, Banner Days, but I suspect there is a great story to be told with these two wrestling legends. A biography of Mae Young would be excellent and fun as well. And hell, the best of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Why not?

Blackjack Mulligan versus Gunther in a Texas Street Fight. Who wins?

This would be an excellent fight and a brawl for the ages. Mulligan has the size and power, but Gunther is a wrestling machine. A very tough call here, but I have to go with the man from Eagle Pass, Texas. Mulligan wins.

Missy Beefcake is accusing Bubba the Love Sponge of exploiting Hulk Hogan’s scandal and death with his new documentary. Thoughts?

Missy Beefcake is a joke, but in this, she’s right. All Bubba has left is Hogan’s name and reputation, as he tries to salvage whatever credibility he pretends to have left. And trying to cash in on Hogan? For Bubba, that’s just business as usual.

Swede Hanson versus Iron Mike Sharpe. Who wins?

I can’t find any record of these two powerhouses ever wrestling each other, although their careers in WWE did overlap between 1983 and 1986. Swede’s prime days were in the late ’60s and ’70s as a heel for Crockett, although he had a good run as a mid-card fan favorite in WWE leading up to his retirement in 1986. Sharpe was tough as nails, but consistently lost for the majority of his WWE career. Based on all of that, Swede Hanson would win.

Wade Barrett has been removed from his role as commentator on SmackDown, and in the future, Michael Cole and Corey Graves will be handling the announce duties for both Raw and SmackDown. Thoughts?

Barrett has clarified this. He requested time off several months ago for personal business, and WWE said yes. This is just WWE filling in for Wade, who is away, but he’ll be back shortly and return to SmackDown.

What’s happened to Joe Tessitore? Why isn’t he on SmackDown?

Tessitore’s job at ESPN and the start of college football require him to be away. He’ll be back once football season ends.

Bryan Danielson is joining the AEW commentary team full-time. Thoughts?

How many announcers does AEW need? They have three shows, with Dynamite, Collision, and ROH, and have at least 7 full-time announcers, plus tons of part-time announcers, interviewers, and wrestlers/managers who do commentary. At least Danielson is working on-screen again and will be a regular presence at all of the events. Maybe we’ll luck up and he’ll replace Excalibur. Nah, I doubt we’ll be that fortunate. It’s not ideal, but AEW is using him. That’s a good thing, right?

And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Reach me by e-mail at Doug28352@yahoo.com or on X at @Doug28352.
