Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
With TKO being all about the money, do you see them closing up shop in Connecticut and relocating WWE to a more tax-friendly state, such as Nevada?
TKO is already based in Nevada, and already has the UFC home offices located there. To put everything under one roof, especially if it saves money, makes sense.
Ronda Rousey says she didn’t hear from anybody regarding WWE Evolution 2. Thoughts?
Look at how she’s been trashing WWE in the press and media since leaving the company. Did she really expect WWE to wish to include her in any projects or events? If she did, she’s delusional.
What did you think of Ken Anderson’s surprise return after almost a decade away? Do you want to see him stay full-time in TNA? Thoughts?
It was a nice surprise for the TNA audience, and just more proof that anything is possible in professional wrestling. Anderson looks to be in great shape, and it’d be interesting to see what he could do in the current TNA environment.
Reboot the Village People, but using professional wrestlers.
Okay. As the cop, I’d go with the Big Boss Man. The cowboy would be Sam Houston. The Indian? Tatanka. For the soldier, I’d put The Miz in that role, in recognition of all of those Marine movies. The construction worker would be Kanyon, who was once part of the team Men at Work, with Mark Starr. And the biker? The American Bad Ass, The Undertaker. Now, let’s hear them sing.
If AJ Lee hadn’t returned for CM Punk, then who? Who were possible alternatives?
Punk mentioned two of them on RAW, with Bayley and Rhea Ripley. I’m sure his ‘daughter’, Roxanne Perez, could have been a possibility. Recently released Cora Jade was close to Punk, so there is her. And what about former Straight Edge Society member Serena Deeb? She’s currently in AEW, so she’s probably not available, but as you can see, if AJ wasn’t available, there were options.
Do you prefer Tiffany Stratton as a heel or a babyface?
I prefer Tiffy as a heel. The babyface just seems forced in my opinion. She’s killing it, but still…
Which current GM is your favorite? Nick Aldis or Adam Pearce?
I think both men are doing an excellent job and are great in their current roles. My favorite? It took a while for him to grow on me, but I’ll say Adam Pearce. And yes, it’s official.
Fightful Select is reporting that Wardlow, after making his return at AEW Forbidden Door after over a year off of television, has suffered an injury, rumored to be a torn pec. Thoughts?
This majorly sucks for Wardlow. He started with so much potential, but between bad booking, extended absences, and repeated injuries, he’s quickly become more of a ‘What if?’ than a major superstar. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
In a recent interview, Toni Storm claims that she had “complete, creative freedom” while in WWE, and wasn’t told what to do enough.
It’s a misleading quote and headline. Toni explained that WWE seemed to be unsure about exactly what to do with Toni, and as a result, she lacked direction and seemed to flounder. She wasn’t anyone’s favorite, and it held her back in finding herself and the right character. Nobody in WWE has complete creative freedom, and everyone is just a part of the machine and puzzle. Toni just couldn’t find her spot.
Vince McMahon called Bryan Danielson five days before AEW All Out 2021 and tried to convince him to return to WWE. Thoughts?
Danielson had not signed a contract with AEW yet, and Vince was being Vince, doing what he felt was best for WWE. Remember, he reached out to Harley Race days before Starcade and tried to lure him to the WWF with similar results. Vince did nothing wrong, and Danielson rejected his offer, saying that he had already agreed to work for AEW. There is nothing scandalous here. It’s just business.
