Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
What’s your take—should WWE bring Saraya back for one more match against Natalya?
Part of me would like to see the former Paige back in WWE, wrestling Natalya and her former nemesis, AJ Lee, but given her history, the many comments made regarding AEW, WWE, her history, and her medical history, there is too much baggage and potential risk. Paige is best left in the past where she belongs.
Do you want to see Rob Gronkowski return to WWE? Should Triple H hand him a mic and let him run wild?
Gronk’s previous run with WWE seems like a waste of time with so much wasted potential. Could you see Gronk versus Logan Paul, and just imagine the promos? I’d love to see Gronk return to WWE and be used as the character he’s developed in the NFL, with the wrestling twist. It would be entertaining and money for WWE, and we all know that TKO would like that.
Do you want to see an AEW Women’s Continental Classic?
Another meaningless tournament, with sub-par talent because Tony Khan likes tournaments and AEW needs more titles. No, I don’t want to see that.
Do you think WWE holding WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia—without a second event—is the right call? Would you have preferred one to stay in the U.S.?
WrestleMania belongs in North America, or maybe the UK. It does not belong in Saudi Arabia. Give the Saudis the Royal Rumble or another Golden Crown event, but keep WrestleMania at home. WWE is making a huge mistake.
Jim Ross recently revealed his top-5 wrestlers turned commentators, listing Jerry Lawler, Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, Taz, and Excalibur as his choices. Thoughts? Who would be your choices?
Except Excalibur, all are good and solid picks. And Ross is certainly entitled to his opinions. My choices? I agree on Lawler and Heenan, but the other three? I’d say JBL, Dutch Mantell, and Terry Simms Garvin.
Do you think WWE should pay Jim Ross and other legends royalties for archived content on Peacock?
Would it be a nice gesture? Yes, it would. Should they? If it wasn’t in the original contracts that Ross and the other legends signed and agreed to, why should any properly run business pay out money that it doesn’t have to? That’s not smart business. It’d make for a nice gesture, but it’s not required, and I don’t see anyone volunteering to change that.
Would you want to see retired legends return for one last payday match in Saudi Arabia?
Money talks, and seemingly, that’s what the Saudi’s want. And depending on who the legends are, I wouldn’t mind seeing a few last hurrahs by a few past favorites.
WWE and NXT are loading up the show for NXT Homecoming, next Tuesday night at Full Sail University. Thoughts?
NXT is stacking the show, and I’m sure that the ratings will reward their efforts. It should be an excellent show.
Do you want to see Rey Mysterio make one more serious run before hanging up the mask?
So long as Rey can perform and feels comfortable inside that ring, he should keep doing what he’s doing. One last run that ends with a reunion, teaming with Dominik to close things out, works for me. If done correctly, it could be huge.
